Thyroid atrophy????
Hello, Thanks to those who have given me guidance previously. is anyone able to tell me the size a thyroid usually is in a woman? I’ve read each lobe should be around 4cms. I recently had a scan privately and my lobes measure 8x7 and 8x5mm respectively. To me this is extremely small and it appears

Annual NHS Blood Test
Hi, I’ve just had my annual thyroid blood test and I am absolutely speechless…… When I checked my results it showed that the NHS test only checked my TSH, the NHS didn't even check my T4 as the standard annual check. We have no chance of them completing a full thyroid blood test. Luckily for me

Tongue / Graves disease
Can the thyroid affect the tongue? I was borderline again last time and have a blood test end of Feb due to be discharged if ok but I think as I keep being borderline they're not sure what to do with me. As to whether my body is naturally on borderline as I don't really get many of the symptoms Mild

How to prepare for my thyroid test?
Hi all, I’m on the following routine and wondered what I should do with my thyroid medication the day before the test: First dose: 3am - 125mcg Levo, 5mcg - T3 Second dose: 11am - 2.5mcg T3 I will do the test around 8am ensuring I’ve only had water. So should I NOT take the 11am T3 dose the day

Some advice please
Hi, I'm in surgical menopause and have not felt 'well' for a number of years now. I won't bore you with the backstory of my trials and tribulations with HRT, all in the pursuit of feeling well enough to fully function. I've questioned Thyroid for some time, I had tests last September and posted them

Advice regarding Thyroid levels
Hi Could do with some advice regarding my thyroid test levels. I have Hashimoto's but am not taking thyroid medication due to my TSH levels not being high enough yet. I was diagnosed just over 2 years ago after my health had declined for several years. My GP did however agree to a 25mcg Levothyroxine

Confusing results and Nodule
This is the response from Endocrinologist'. I don’t feel great. I have low energy levels compared to normal, I’m so tired , always cold or temperature sensitive. Reading this response, it doesn’t sound that they plan to offer to medicate me. But the thought of feeling like this indefinitely fills

Advice please
Hello, hypothyroid here, currently taking 225mg levothyroxine daily. Visited the Dr (NHS) last week for a few ongoing issues, including a lump in my neck (just right of neck centre) and was seen primarily by a student Dr who’s findings were then discussed/assessed with GP. Very convinced it’s a goitre

Undermedicated thyroid symptoms could be mistaken for Parkinsons?
Please indicate if you think this may be better over in Parkinson Forum... or as well as! After being stable for a good few years, (thanks to the great people on this forum) I managed to drop the ball with my thyroid and have spent the last year getting back on track. My profile shows the details

More blood tests required?
Hello all, I am waiting to have a blood test in 7 weeks for Thyroid Function and Antibodies to determine if I have Graves or not. As I am being treated for OVERACTIVE thyroid, can someone please tell me If should ask my GP to schedule me for other blood tests (available on the NHS), such as iron, ferrite

Timing and reasons for Thyroid blood tests
Recommended by numerous research papers that thyroid testing should be in the morning and before taking daily levothyroxine TSH has a circadian rhythm and is highest in early morning and lowest in afternoon Links to a few research papers and articles https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc

Help boosting thyroid without medication?
Hello all I have posted before as my thyroid function is poor but always comes back in range (my TSH never rises even with low levels) so no chance of medication on the NHS (other than statins for high cholesterol which I refuse). I did some recent tests TSH 1.95 (0.27-4.2) T4 14.6 (12-22) T3

Hand and foot numbness
Hi. I recently have had vibration in my toe and pain on top of my right foot and numbness and pain in my right hand. I was wondering if my thyroid was related. My graves was under control but when I thought I may have covid my doctor said to quadruple my dose of methimazole for a week. That was little

Does this sound like Hashimoto's please?
Hello, My thyroid has been under suspicion for many years but I cannot seem to get any answers. Postnatally, (four months after giving birth), some fifteen years ago, my TSH was tested and was 12.6. Nothing was done about this. ( I have only just seen this on my NHS app). Fast forward to eight years
