Seretide

Has anyone had first hand experience with these side effects of seretide, and how did you over come them.

For the last few months my asthma has worsened and my peak flow has been at the 240-260 mark which my gp put me on 7 days of prednisone and advised me to double up my seretide 250 accuhaler and keep a record of my peak flows.

Then I was still wheezy, so after another week of nighttime waking my GP gave me QVAR50, but that wasn't enough so he upped it to seretide 125, then 250, 2 puffs twice a day.

But since moving out going home is a nightmare, for a few days before going I take my seretide 250, nasal spray, both drowsy and non drowsy antihistamines, i might as well have taken nothing. What can I do to avoid my christmas being ruined by allergies???

We went to the doctors last night and he couldn't say whether he thought these periods of coughing were an exacerbation of asthma symptoms or just a cough but went on to prescribe seretide saying that he wasn't bothered that he wasn't 5 yet as he is almost there!

In addition to Singular, antihistamine, and a steroid nasal spray, I'm currently on 1000/day Seretide, plus oral steroids which are gradually being tapered down (5mg/5days) starting from 40mg/day for a week.

Does side effects like joint pain or muscle pain usually disappear when used for a few weeks.

I phone my Consultant secretary and had a good chat with her she told me she will sort this one anyway just had a letter and prescription for a spacer and she CC the leter to the Dr stating it is there policy to change the spacer ever 6-12 months it must be changed due to using seretide 250 Thank-you

Hello,I'm on seretide250,but at the mo have got a chest inf ,so have had to use during the night to stop the coughing, as of this xtra usage I get a faster heart beat,iv told my gp Iv been checked out ,the works but he says it's the sere tide, it scares me ,is there anything to calm it down.please

again playing up badly and I am having 'attacks' at least 5 times per day (where I have to use my reliever and often at least 5 puffs each time) and because of being breathless, I have been having problems using the Symbicort because of not having the breath in me to breathe it in so I am now back on Seretide

(Seretide, ventolin, montelukast, prednisolone,certirizine, risedronate and uniphyllin ) and they have now decided to give me oral salbutamol 8mg twice daily. But I can't seem to find much info on it, so I was wondering if anyone here is on it or knows anything about it? Can it be used long term?

Initially it seemed to be set off by some sort of allergy (sprays etc) and I was given Seretide 250 to take 1 puff twice a day (September).

Hello, I was just wondering if anyone has ever been prescribed seretide 100 2 puffs/twice daily? It doesn't seem right to me after reading the insert and a guick google! Thank you :)

Anyway, the basics of my story is as follows - - was diagnosed as having Asthma when I was 5 and I'm allergic to dust mites / house dust - I was on ventolin for years and years (now 39 years old) - was put on Seretide 500 about 6 years ago as I found myself wheezy all the time - everything was fine

I've been on seretide now I'm on fostair but struggling with the side effects.

now i am on Seretide 250 twice a day and Atrovent and singulair but since i changed to using a spacer with the new meds i feel better and i use my ventolin 4-5 times a day. please can you advice me on how long a spacer will last Thank you

I am to continue for now with seretide 250 and singulair, but I was wondering who has had experience of this therapy - I must admit it sounds good, I'm the sort of person who forgets to take my inhaler when I'm well.

I'd had my seretide,a few mins prior to this need I b worried?

They are the Seretide, Flixonase and the Nedocromil. So waiting to hear what is going to happen about getting them now they are going to contact the consultant and then let me know.
