Seretide

I have seen a chest consultant at hospital chest clinic the past 9 years..im on seretide 500 preventer and montelukast but still get very ill each year for weeks on end with it..nebulisers etc.

Could I possible double my preventer of seretide back up to last year dosage? Going to book doctors appointment tomorrow for advice. Thank you God for online appointments.

I've had adult onset asthma for many years and it was always relatively well controlled on seretide 250 and montelukast (just the odd chest infection through the years needing steroids and antibiotics).

The doctor thinks I need to double my seretide inhaler from 125 mg as having another asthma attack 4 wks after I saw my asthma nurse means that my asthma is as not as well control as it should be. So what is the absolute totally definition that I am alright.

Hi guys I'm new on here, I've had asthma all my life I'm now 47 over the last few years my Asthma seem to have changed from being dry and tight to being really phlegmy mucusy I've been taking seretide for about 14 years and I'm on the highest dose I'm now also on montelukast and Avamys nasal spray

She was not happy with peak flow and number of times I'm experiencing symptoms and has changed the Seretide to Flutiform 250x2 twice a day. Does anyone have experience of these inhalers and how they compare?

I feel so depressed as I thought xolair would help, Symbicort 400 /12 was changed to duo resp and I've just read the steroid in seretide is stronger . Is anyone else like me can't get control no matter which inhalers or how many puffs and yes tried smart regime didn't work .

Taking Seretide and Ventolin, can breathe and walk about ok. Haven't had an attack. Peak flow is at 87% (370ish).

I've been prescribed Fostair to replace Seretide but this has caused constant coughing fits and now a big attack so I've had to stop. I struggle a lot with tight chest/ breathlessness/tiredness despite multiple meds and long courses of prednisolone.

Been taking seretide every other day. Now having insomnia due to shortness of breathe while laying down, heart burn/pain. Just took a puff of ventolin now, don't feel very much relieved. What to do?

FYI, I'm on Seretide 125, rarely take blue inhaler.

No wheeze tho, so apparently no need for more steroids or an increase in seretide. Peak flow still only 65% at best. Also had chest x-ray to see what's going on. Following this, if it continues I'll need a blood test.

She said the only way she could increase the seretide was to change me to the accuhaler. . any help would be gratefully received.

Current meds are seretide 250, spiriva and zafurlukast. Have had a chest X-ray, that was clear. I have got a referral to a chest specialist but not till the end of Nov. I just feel my life is on hold as I can't do any physical activity without having a coughing fit.

There no query on my prescription of Seretide when I change surgeries but after my asthma review 2mths ago the nurse said I couldn't have Seretide as it was too expensive to prescribe! So she changed my inhaler to Symbicort, which doesn't contain either of the mediates in Seretide.

Told seretide is no longer being prescribed by Fife nhs. Read it can cause increased chance of repeated lung infections. Given relvar ellipta instead. Have googled that and in some cases can cause pneumonia. Hope I'm one of the lucky ones who do not succumb.

Before this I was on Seretide and had no problems but they took me off this as they stopped prescribing it. Maybe I am clutching at straws but I feel desperate now as I don't want to keep living like this!

My friend has been taken off seretide because it seems to make you more prone to lung infections. Been on it for years and go from one lung infection to another. Any comments?

Does anyone suffer from muscle cramps due to their seretide 500? And how do you alleviate them?

I have maybe four bouts of asthma a year, each time I'm upping my seretide and taking pred, co-amoxiclav antibiotics and lots of salbutamol! My main triggers are colds which turn into chest infections then asthma. My asthma is not triggered by exercise.
