My first post
I was diagnosed with mild COPD in 2009 and given a steroid inhaler,
Seretide
. My COPD is now moderate and I have just had my inhaler changed to Spiriva which is leaving a nasty taste in my mouth so I am not sure about it so far. My GP wants everyone to stop taking steroids if possible.

New asthma sufferer. Any advice?
I was given
seretide
250 and the specialist said she "thinks" I have asthma. That's the closest diagnosis I ever got. The 250 helped, but my breathing and coughing were still not under control, so now I'm on 500 twice a day.

When your asthma nurse gives up on you maybe there is something else happening
I was always on the maximum dose of Flutiform and
Seretide
. My Sister recommended
Seretide
and it worked for a while but like everything else it stopped after a week or so as if my lungs were some kind of coded safe that inhalers couldn’t unlock.

COPD
Also take
seretide
. Had Tritropium years ago but stopped because of glaucoma. Going to give it another try. Feeling shaky with steroids and becoming more housebound. Lucky I am still on my feet so,shouldn't complain. Will be 78 soon. Just so tired. Think I am looking for sympathy.

Advice needed...
The asthma nurse put me on
seretide
125 before the last prescription was issued so the mistake is the surgery's, yet when I explained to the pharmacist that an error had been made she said she couldn't refund the prescription fee which I feel is highly unfair.

Today is so far a good day
Good enough my Asthma nurse phoned me back within 10 mins and told me to double up on my
seretide
and to use the ventolin as often as I needed and if things got no better. To phone out of hours to see a dr or to get to hospital. Luckily things started to improve.

Feeling happy and hopeful
Hi all last night was the first night in months that I haven't been kept awake coughing, wheezing etc and today is the first time since being on ventolin I have not had to use it ( usually couple of times a day I need it more so in the mornings) let's hope the change to
seretide
is the answer.

Mucus in the Lungs
I've told my Asthma Nurse I have a lot of mucus stuck in my chest which stops me from laughing out loud and do exercise, even doing the stairs it's hard but she just told me to increase the preventer
Seretide
to two puffs a day. Why doesn't she send me to the Physio to learn breathing techniques?

Asthma fine during exercise but rubbish afterwards?
Now it mostly behaves itself (on
seretide
and tiotropium and montelukast) except during pollen season when I need extra oral steroids and regular abx. One of the fab things is that I can now run even in cold weather.

Hi
About a year ago was changed from
Seretide
to Flutiform, and that was the final piece in the jigsaw. From the first time I used it, all the tightness in my chest disappeared. No longer feel asthmatic to be honest.

Virus asthma and fed up
Seretide
8 puffs daily, Montelukast and ventolin. It is helping. My breathing responds to vent so how can it not be asthma. I'm so bewildered by it all. Feeling rubbish, exhausted. Seeing my own GP I orris, he saw waiting in waiting room yesterday and had a chat.
