Salbutamol/ventolin asthma
I think doses/puffs can be confusing as it depends on what strength we are discussing Ventolin /
Salbutamol
(blue inhaler). I take a 200 microgram
Salbutamol
turbohaler. Even having asthma in the family it took me 4 years from my first asthma attack at 15 until I was finally diagnosed at 19.

Fluctuating pef, asthma questioned
Spyromethry gave normal results, predicted were more than 86%, nothing changed after
salbutamol
(waited about 20mins), so considered as non reversible. Asthma nurse said spyromethry results might not be accurate if you don't have an attack at the time.

New asthmatic feeling fed up and unsupported
I currently take fostair 200, spiriva respimat, montelukast and
Salbutamol
when needed. I also use a spacer. As there is nothing more they can do to manage it in the community they have done an urgent referral to respiratory consultant and my appointment is for July next year!

Reasons To Be Cheerful
The Blue Inhaler that gets us out of trouble so often, was the result of their development of
Salbutamol
back in 1966, at a subsidiary of Glaxo called Allen & Hanbury located In Ware, Hertfordshire. It was subsequently branded and launched as Ventolin in 1969.

Flu Jab?
So been back on my Clenil Modulite as it hit my breathing straight away, and
salbutamol
when needed, which has settled everything down quite well and quite quickly too, but had a rough night last night coughing and wheezing, and my peak flow is down from about 520 to 400 (even lower than when I was first

New asthma team
I’m currently on: — Seretide 125/25 — Atrovent (the doc questioned that because it’s not a usual choice but I explained that I’ve been established on that/Spiriva for a while) — Montelukast 10mg —
Salbutamol
inhaler as needed — saline nebs when ill (again doc asked about that but it was recommended

Embarrassed to be so eager to be diagnosed with asthma
I don’t think other people can understand how unsettling it is to not have a definitive diagnosis and plan of care. When you break your ankle, you have an X-ray, get a cast, use crutches, heal in a set number of weeks and everyone knows and it is easy to explain. As I’ve been bounced around to doctors

Waking up breathless at night
I have to take my inhaler (albuterol/
salbutamol
) twice a day, sometimes more as per need. Occasional chest tightness but coughing and wheezing goes on all day. I googled this up and found it’s related to COPD or congested heart. Not sure what this is.

Two Asthma Attacks in the space of Two Months—Should I be concerned?
My fiancé was at his job at the bakery, and I was alone without my Berotec or
Salbutamol
inhalers (STUPID MOVE! DONT MAKE MY MISTAKE!) and I was starting to panic once I felt my heart rate start to increase and I was slowly going into a critical state.

So many bugs!
to clear one virus (+ pleurisy) that I was in with 2.5 weeks ago and already seem to have picked up another one 🙄 That combined with the cold, damp weather, our neighbours having fireworks earlier in the week and Diwali celebrations on tonight mean I have one unhappy chest 😫 Set up in bed using

Severe asthma attack but here to tell the tale
The coughing stopped and I was able to recover my breath a bit and had
salbutamol
10 puffs via the spacer. I felt a good bit better having all that off my chest.

I usually take him to hospital by car myself when he has tracheal tug and intercostal recession, not resolved by
