Seasonal asthma

Side effects
Last week I’d had three attacks in the space of a week that resulted in A&E treatment with
salbutamol
, atrovent, hydrocortisone, magnesium and pred tablets. I’ve had an attack free week and have finished the pred now and the ‘cold turkey’ has now set in.

Can’t shake off tight chest feeling despite good peak flow / inhaler use
I now look after myself - exercise where possible, use seretide inhaler 4 x day and
salbutamol
as required. My issue is this: I have an incredibly tight chest all the time. Inhalers don’t seem to make a difference.

Recovering from asthma attack
Things calmed and I was discharged with QVAR and
salbutamol
inhaler My reliance on the
salbutamol
inhaler has come down, on discharge I needed it every 4hrs. I used it 3 times (4hrs a part) yesterday And finally my questions- is this normal, is my use of
salbutamol
post attack ok?

Salbutamol

Fostair 200 Dummy...
After an initial bombardment of Prednisone, Qvar 100 and
Salbutamol
, things eased a little however, the breathlessness, persistent tight band around the rib cage along with a little cough, all remained.

Asthma very unstable.
In fairness to him, he did say that he could see I was acutely unwell and was obviously in distress but he was adamant that it wasn't my asthma.......despite the fact that the ipratropium and
salbutamol
nebs helped!

Advice for difficult asthma?
Over the last month however I’m getting more of a really tight chest that comes on quick and aggressive- thanks heavens for
salbutamol
when that happens though! Any advice that can be spared? Thanks in advance ☺️

Nebuliser
I was having 5ml
salbutamol
every 4 hours including through night. And 3 atrovent daily. Plus symbicort 4 times per day. I'm a bit worried about having more
salbutamol
. Has anyone increased nebulisers , say to every 2 hours or so and been ok?

Salbutamol prescription problems.
I am having problems getting my
Salbutamol
repeat. I used to get two inhalers but this was flagged by pharmacist and I was called to an asthma review with Asthma nurse at my GP surgery.

Salbutamol inhalers and repeat prescriptions?
I've been asthmatic since childhood. I consider it well managed even if I need to use my Ventolin inhaler on top of my preventative Seretide one almost on a daily basis. I have various triggers from both extremes of weather, exercise, dust, allergens and traffic pollution. Today I've attended an asthma

Feeling a bit rubbish
I’ve been flaring like crazy for a few months, have had 3 or 4 courses of pred and I’m still getting breathless pretty often- 61 puffs of
salbutamol
in 2 weeks.

Post attack advice please
They put me straight on
salbutamol
nebs but couldn't stabilise me so called 999. The paramedics were amazing and gave me atrovent? And IV hydrocortisone before whisking me to a+e. When I was there i had 3 lots of ipratropium and
salbutamol
nebs over a period of a few hours.

Just having a vent...
I could see that the doctor was not confident in dealing with such asthma queries and they instructed me to lower the number of puffs I use each day and (wait for it...) increase the use of
salbutamol
!

Finally appointment time!
I’m on fostair 200/6, spiriva, intal and
salbutamol
inhalers, antihistamines, montelukast, theophylline, maintenance pred and 2 prophylactic antibiotics and there’s no scope to reduce anything really as I’m still not fully controlled (just had a steroid wean admission a few weeks ago).
