Hi everyone, I have been on this forum for months, and feel as though I know alot of you already. I live in the States. I was told I had very severe pulmonary emphysema in Oct. by my pft test taken. My first pulmonary visit is Thurs. Strangely enough I'm not scared. I'm only breathless upon exertion,

Ventolin
Hi. I am trying Ventolin at the suggestion of the asthma nurse alongside my Anoro to try to improve the tightness in the right side of my chest. It is a 'trial and error' scenario before I go to my GP. Is it normal for my tongue and lips to go numb like a dental injection would? Also, I only get the

Can anyone advise?
Hi I have posted a couple of times about my rather vague diagnosis - namely lupus (for which I take prednisolone and mycophenolate), small airway narrowing (Bronchiolitis), and restrictive lung disease (weak respiratory muscles). I have repeated bouts of pleuritic pain and 2 areas of tree-in-bud (on

Has anybody tried "Anoro" yet?
Hi, Computer has been on the "blink" and only just got sorted. In between times I have visited my Practice Nurse for the first time since being diagnosed with COPD. She has put me on a course of broncho-dilators called Anoro. It's a slow-release over 24 hours, so one inhalation in a morning and I

I have just spent one week in Hospital, I have been given this new inhaler, has anyone else tried it ?? I am completely exhausted and the least thing makes me so breathless. Peak flow is 200 , I have plenty of Oxygen but only 50 per cent of my lungs work. At 74 I am getting quite despondent , I feel

C&PCCG Asthma Pathway - MDI or DPI?
Are there any good reasons why an MDI + spacer is considered better than the current generation of DPIs such as
Fostair NEXThaler
or
Ellipta
(also
NOT RECOMMENDED
)?

Inhaler advice please
Hello to all. I am hoping that someone can advise me on my inhalers. I have non-specific respiratory problems that run alongside my Lupus. Despite being a non-smoker, my airways are narrowed and also inflamed. I have been using both Eklira and Flutiform but asked my consultant for a single inhaler

Eletriptan / Relpax
Does anyone know please if the above triptan is no longer available. After 20 years of trial and error, I finally found that Relpax works for me,and the side-effects are minimal. I went to my chemist recently to re-order and was told that they can't source it as there are...'Long-term manufacturing problems

When the pain will stop
I feel like its the end for me, in soooo much pain... My new neurologist compared me with a heroin drug addict. I am on Relpax every day. Maybe she is right, but I am not taking it for pleasure, i need it to take care of the twins ( 2 years old ). So I stopped the relpax, now i feel really really bad

Change of inhaler
Hi. I have just had an unexpectedly positive and constructive appointment with my Resp Consultant - what a difference it makes when you really feel they want to help. He is changing my inhaler from Eklira & Flutiform to Anoro Ellipta (dual bronchodilator) once daily and I'm interested to hear other

I was expecting a course of steroids tablets, but instead she has prescribed me a new inhaler called
Relvar
Ellipta
- apparently you only have to take this once a day! Has anyone else tried this? How have you gotten on with it? Can it really control asthma symptoms with just one puff a day?

Hello Everybody, I wondered if anybody else has been prescribed this quite new drug which is marketed as Anoro Ellipta and if anybody finds it more effective than what they were using. In my case Ipratropium. I'm not too sure about it and I would be so grateful if anyone has any feedback. I think it
