Qvar- When to start re-taking it.
Last year I was put onto Qvar after a long over due review with my local asthma nurse. I have mild asthma and didn't feel I needed a change in my medication but I did notice I had a persistent dry cough which never amounted to a cold etc. The qvar got rid of the cough and several months later after

QVAR dosage
Hi There, My son has just been shifted across from Beclomatsome 100 (2 puffs twice a day), to QVAR 100 (1 puff twice a day). The pharmacist told me its common practise that dosage is halved when you move across, due to QVAR being more effective. Has anyone else been moved across successfully? Was your

No real improvement after nebuliser
My son is 7, and suffers from what I think is cough variant asthma - as his only symptom is a cough. He is on cetrizene, white atrovent inhaler, ventolin and QVAR 50 preventer. On Saturday we had to visit out of hours, as his cough was bad (he had been sick twice from it, and hadn't slept much in the

Advice needed on asthma change
Hopefully some of you who read this may be able to help me (and if not anyone can maybe learn from my story); I have had asthma all my life; I had been using two (inhaler) puffs 2 at night and 2 in the morning of the inhaler Beclomethasone, Early in 2009 I was dismayed when the Beclomethasone was discontinued

New inhalers, I'm confused, can anyone enlighten me?
Hi, I got a refilled prescription today and was moved from my usual beclametasone on to QVAR, but it doesn't fit my large spacer so I handed it back. Nurse then got doc to prescribe clenil modulite as it will fit aerochamber and my large spacer as I prefer my large spacer when my chest is bad. She

CFC Free inhalers
Hello I need help! Has anyone moved over to the CFC free preventer inhalers yet? I met with the Asthma nurse and I wasnt sure if to go for Qvar MDI or Clenil Modulite. I've read some articles on Qvar which say the particles are smaller and go lower into your lungs, hence you need to take less, has anyone

Qvar
Any of you medic trained know what is in Qvar apart from beclomethasone. Doc reckons I had an allergic reaction to it when he started me on it at the weekend. My sinuses hurt, skin eyes and ears itched, neck went red and my lungs felt as if they were burning inside. I have been taking becotide for

Constant Wheeze but normal Peak Flow
I take 2 puffs of Qvar 50 twice a day but for the last month or so I am constantly wheezy yet my peak flow is more or less normal for me. My cough and wheeze responds to Ventolin, sometimes several times a day. My chest doesn't rattle and I am not bringing anything up but I am wondering whether or

Recurrent adult asthma
I was wondering if anyone has experienced a similar situation to mine. I was diagnosed with asthma as a child, and I had several bad episodes back then, one which hospitalised me. I have been relatively symptom free for about 16 years. In the last year I have been subject to several major life events
