First nebuliser last night and I need some advice
I'm seventeen, and I've lived with asthma for about 10 years. I'm on Ventolin and Qvar 100. Okay so since Monday to today (Thursday) I've been away on a residential. And last night I had a pretty bad asthma episode; the staff called an ambulance and they treated me with salbutomol and oxygen and discharged

Symbicort
I have been prescribed Symbicort to replace my Seretide, Qvar and Salbutamol. However, I have just read the information leaflet and it mentions that the powder does not have a taste I was just wondering if anyone else is on this inhaler. How do I know if I have taken my dose or not?

Qvar question
Qvar question When I went to the chemist to collect my prescription of Qvar last week the pharmacist took me aside and asked me to come into another room - and asked me if I knew that Qvar is a steroid and how do I use it and how often do I use it ! I was most taken aback and wondered if anyone else

Breathless and tight-chested all the time- but told it wasn't my asthma!
Hey, I'm seventeen, and I was diagnosed with asthma nearly ten years ago- so I've been living with it for half my lifetime. My asthma's been acting up badly recently, and I'm almost constantly breathless, feel like there's a weight on my chest, and sometimes get really bad pain. As a result, I can no

Skin Rash from Steriod Inhaler...advice please.
Hello Everyone, My 4yr old daughter has been using a Qvar 50 Beclometasone steroid inhaler at night for a few months now, just 1 or 2 puffs before bedtime. It seems to be helping her but over the last few weeks she has developed a skin rash on her chin which seems worse some days rather than other

Fostair
I have had asthma for many years, taking one puff day and night of my brown inhaler Qvar (Beclometasone Diproprionate), with a puff or two of my reliever, which was a Brycanyl Turbohaler. At my asthma review, they changed me to a 'new' inhaler called Fostair...because I occasionally needed to take

Is this asthma? Throat and chest tight
Hi, this is likely to be a long one, but I'd be grateful for any thoughts as I'm quite confused! Not looking for medical advice per se, but any thoughts would be gratefully received. I'm 28, have been asthmatic pretty much all my life. Went back on inhalers in my early 20s and since then it's been very

Qvar and insomnia
Our 4 year old son was diagnosed with asthma about 6 months ago and has been using Qvar 50 as a preventative for a few months. He has 2 puffs twice a day. We have noticed recently that he seems to be suffering from insomnia. He rarely sleeps later than 5 am and can wake up at 2.30 am full of life

How do you use your aerochamber plus?
I've just been put onto Qvar which I am using with my aerochamber plus. I've not used one for a while, and when I saw the dr, he told me to do 2 puffs into the aerochamber and then breathe in and out as normal - making sure I did the out breath through the spacer as well and not out of my nose. This

AeroChamber problem
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post. I've just resolved a problem which I'd like as many as possible to be aware of. I've been using the Becotide inhaler sucessfully for many years, but a few years ago was advised to use a spacer device for better effect. This was the large

Muscular Pains in legs - any advice please.
I have been taking quinine for cramp, induced through Serevent. It does seem to be working but now I am getting a lot of pain from the top front surface of my thighs down to my knees. It comes on at night following stretching in my sleep and is so painful it wakes me up several times in the night.

Handihaler and asthma
Hi folks, I'm feeling very depressed this evening. I've had a few chest infections over the last three winters, three in 2008, one last year and a mild one already this year. I spoke to the asthma UK nurse before Christmas and she recommended that I ask my doctor about trying a montelukas tablet in

Anyone use a Qvar and/or Serevent?
Well, the ongoing saga continues... I've been back to the docs today as since he uped my sybicort from 4 puffs of the 200/6 to 2 puffs of the 400/12, the cough has got no better.. grrrr. So he's ""starting from the begining"" apparently, and I've got Qvar 100 and Serevet 50 mcg. The Serevet inhalor

Cough, cold and asthma - not sure whether I'm over-reacting
Hi. Sorry to be a pain, I'm fairly new here and going through a very uncontrolled stage of my asthma. In no way am I anywhere near as severe as many, but this is all a bit new to me and I could do with some help. My asthma was controlled until I had my daughter last year. Since then, its been all over
