I just discovered a likely RIGHT inguinal hernia (IH) on July 6, which comes after my March 17, 2020, laparoscopic da Vinci radical

I am 18 months out from a radical

at U of Penn. Gleason 9, no mets, feeling great and currently monitoring PSA quarterly. PSA has risen from post surg 0.009 to current 0.063. Plan is to not intervene with ADT/RT unless PSA gets closer to 0.2.

Compared with local radiation therapy (RT), radical
prostatectomy
(RP) as primary treatment for prostate cancer may result in a lower risk of castrate-resistant disease and superior overall survival (OS) from the time of metastasis.

Castration resistance
Went through chemotherapy with docetaxel for 6 cycles, radiation of mets to my cervical vertebrae, ADT with Lupron of course and even a radical
prostatectomy
(strange this was even offered and done with my stage). I started with a PSA of 54 and joined the zero PSA club in Jan 2018.

5-years Today ... and counting! :)
Starting with a 227 PSA and 1 met in my spine, I’ve had radiation to the spine, 6 rounds of chemo, 4 1/2 years of ADT, a
prostatectomy
, and implanted a pacemaker. Worth every bit of it! Amazing what they can do to treat PCa these days. I’m incredibly fortunate.

0.53 post prostatectomy
About this time last year, my brother had radiation, post
prostatectomy
. His numbers have been going up with each blood test. He just called and said his newest number is 0.53 and the oncologist told him that he can now be enrolled in a study I think it is for a PET scan.
