Swollen feet and legs...any advice?
Hi everyone, hope you're all well! Does anyone have any tips for dealing with swollen feet and legs? I am almost 38 weeks and have had swollen feet for weeks now, but this last week it has spread right up my legs to the extent that I can't bend them. I've been checked over at the hospital as they were

The birth of my second baby.
Hello everyone. This is the first time I have written a blog, but just wanted to share my experience to help those who are scared of the delivery like I was this time. Before I gave birth to my 1st child, a son in December 2010, at the marvelous age of 40. I wasn't scared of the birth. I expected

Experiences of pregnancy after pre-eclampsia
Hello. I had pre-eclampsia in my first pregnancy, and ended up having my daughter at 27 weeks. Thankfully she is absolutely fine, and is now nearly 2 and a half. We are talking about TTC again, and I've had an appointment to discuss this with the obstetrician. He said we should go ahead and he's confident

Wondering if anyone has had longer term health problems following pre-eclampsia?
I had eclampsia last year and since then I have had anaemia twice, my thyroid has been hypo to the point of needing medication adjusted 3 times (despite being quite controlled before pregnancy) and I've just been diagnosed with pernicious anaemia. It was suggested the pernicious anaemia may be attibuted

How much information is too much?
Some people think having too much information can scare pregnant women and their partners. How much information do you think pregnant women need about pre-eclampsia? Does it help to know how serious pre-eclampsia can be (i.e. it can cause the death of mum and baby) or is that too alarming?

Symptoms of pre-eclampsia
The most common symptoms are raised blood pressure and protein in the urine (proteinuria) which is why your blood pressure and urine are always tested at your antenatal appointments. The reason for a rise in blood pressure and protein leaking into your urine is because of changes to your blood vessels
