Coming off pramipexole. Not sure why just after midnight is my worst time. I’m coming off pramipexole but having some weird symptoms. I’ve got this weird pain my side. Sometimes it’s in my tummy. Sometimes under my ribs. It’s worse when I move. I took 3 gabapentin today. No pramipexole.

Hi good people Auld Reekie here , I am on 180 micrograms at 17.oohrs and 350 micrograms at 24.oo hrs is this a high dose or not, cut out the 180mc and have experienced painful leg ,thigh and buttock muscles would that be the cause or I am thinking lack of calcium, God bless you all .

Was on pramipexole for over 15 years was up to 3mg. Have slowly tapered off of it and switched to a lower dose of requip hopefully don't have to deal with as many side effects mostly hypersexuality. My rls symptoms seem to be starting earlier in the day by 3 in the afternoon.

Former Minerva, you said you kept taking the pram for several months along with the gabapentin. How low a dose did you get to before you stopped?? Then did you still get any augmenting??

Hi auld grumpty again 2 weeks cutting down Pramipexole from O.180 mg by halve going to try the other half the next 2 weeks and see how it goes so far so good ,also going for a ferritin blood test tomorrow so we will see how that is .keep up the good fight you good people there is always light at the

Tonight my RLS and body temperature regulation are going wild. Covers on and I sweat; covers off and am cold. I can't lay down for 1 minute without twitching and getting up. My ferritin levels are 178 so that is okay ,starting tomorrow cutting out the other half of .180 mg and that leaves .350mg left see how it goes , if I can cut back to under this level i will not mind if I get off it all together , when you swap it will just be the same okay to start with then augmentation

Anyway, reading here has made me wonder if I should just stop the pramipexole before it becomes too hard to stop. Also I like to go out at weekend and have a drink or too, is this still ok to do?

I have been a member of this forum for a long time now and found it immensely supportive and helpful as I tried to withdraw from Pramipexole after severe problems with Augmentation, having been kept on this drug for 22 years. Then I caught Covid in Dec 2019.

Over the years I must have tried everything suggested on this site and although I’ve had some success in the past I’m back in the old routine My neurologist does know about augmentation and I’m currently not taking any da,s but she has hinted about going back on to a low dosage of Pramipexole!

One woman had RLS for 40 years and was beginning to augment on pramipexole. They apparently were not doing anything different except for getting the vaccine. Has anyone out there had a similar experience or heard of this happening in their geographic area?

first ,so waiting on doctor phone call ,receptionists are not qualified to give medical advice ,but they are a barrier you have to go through to see a doctor, when you get blood tests done they just say its fine you are not told the levels unless you ask for them ,at weekend going to cut out the 180mg pramipexole

after reading from members of there problems with pramipexole I do not know what I would be like with out it, I do not seem to suffer with any side affects, it is quite frightening to come off pramipexole will it get worse my RLS if I come off them very slowly I must say, I have been to the doctor

Having got much worse I have taken almost 3 months to get off Pramipexole and my Ferritin levels have come up from 35 to 150 yet still I have no relief in RLS day and night.

does pramipexole give weight gain and swollen legs and feet ,even if i watch what i eat i put on weight , also feet and legs swollen even wearing prescription pressure socks and foot sleeves and adjustable bed so feet are raised up makes no difference, has any one else found this or is it my old brain

The pramipexole was making the RLS worse. After 3 years of taking 1mg once a day I stopped, cold turkey. I do not recommend the sudden stop! For three nights it was hellish. Bizarre behavior, intense symptoms and unrelenting misery were my companions on those three nights.

I have been diagnosed with RLS in 2007 and the neurologist prescribed me with 0,250 mg pramipexole (2x0,125) 2 times a day (0,500 mg total). Since I'm not a big fan of medication, I quickly decided to only take the 0,250mg in the evening. This went pretty well for years.
