Pradaxa (dabigatran)
I have since discovered that there also is
Pradaxa
(dabigatran), which seems similar to Eliquis, but is far less expensive. It also seems to be more flexible in terms of dosage. It has been around since 2010, I understand. Are there any opinions about
Pradaxa
?

Pradaxa. Benefits and problems
Pradaxa
terrifies dentists and most will not even do a filling while taking it. Recently had a biopsy in hospital and they would not touch me unless I had stopped taking
Pradaxa
for three days.

Does anyone take
Pradaxa
just once a day. If so, what was it prescribed for?

New to all this
Fair enough, but was getting over the pericarditis(breathing problems, bloating and a few more things) and starting to feel half way human, then went onto full dose
Pradaxa
, and feel like crap.

Leeches
Leeches cannot be used in cases of physical weakness, haemophilia, or if the animal is taking Marcumar or
Pradaxa
. ASA can be stopped 3 days beforehand. I get the animals from a medical leech farm. After sucking, the animals are full for 1 year. They are only used once.

AFIB AFTER EATING
I was given metoprolol,
Pradaxa
and told to lose weight.I get Afib episodes 7-8 times per month lasting 4 sec to the longest very recently was 8 minutes. In the past 2 months I have been getting palpitaions after eating, which triggers the Afib. Anybody else has this problem? Thanks. JN

3 clear days prior. I had eaten my Full Grain Organic Oats in water with a kiwifruit on top at 6am (Synthroid at 4am) (Diltiazem 5am) NO FOOD. No
Pradaxa
! I was admitted, a Dr checked my credential, pills, wellness. My H/R was 77. BP fine. I was good to go.

Ablation trade off?
I’m on
pradaxa
and had a cardioversion last year that didn’t help. I haven’t been on any AF meds but am scheduled for a catheter ablation in two weeks. I’m still very active and don’t notice the AF much except for some general tiredness.

AF and Singles Vaccine
I am new to this forum, my history being a F73 and have had very symptomatic PAF since 2015 and was put on Sotalol,
Pradaxa
and amlodipine for BP. In 2018 I had a cryoablation and got off the Sotalol which was replaced by 2.5mg of Bisoprolol to help with BP.

Am I doomed?
My electrophysiologist diagnosed me in 2017 with atrial fibrillation and prescribed Flecainide and Metoprolol Succinate (and
Pradaxa
), all of which I’ve tolerated well.

Flashers and Floaters
Anyway, during my stay in hospital the doctors noted that I had AF, symptomless and previously undiagnosed, could have been caused by pericarditis, maybe not, and prescribed blood thinners(
Pradaxa
) and beta blockers(bisoprolol) The point of my query is that, about a month after these drugs were prescribed

Touch up ablation
I am to continue the rate control (Bisoprolol) and the AC (
Pradaxa
Dibigatran) and have a follow up review at 3 months post procedure. Note, the EP who did the initial Cryo ablation was a different EP who did my RF last week. Regards Blake
