Frustrated! Uncommon disease and lack of understanding at hospital when having exacerbation of condition
I have Hypersensitivity
Pneumonitis
- otherwise known as Extensic Allegic Alveolitis! Have been on Prednisolone for over 2 years now and gradually reduced down to 7.5mg daily since February this year. It has become clear that this dose doesn't help my condition as much as 15mg did.

New and starting medication tonight
Hypersensitivity
pneumonitis
came back as "detected" for the aspergillus. I have considered wearing a mask outside as breathing any kind of outside air/smells seems to trigger the cough and attacks. I do still cough inside but I can control the environment much more and I do cough less inside.

Methotrexate can kill!
I recently spent 10 days in ICU on a ventilator due to Methotrexate
Pneumonitis
, a serious complication of MTX. I was diagnosed with pneumonia & every doctor got it wrong, was 1 day from being unplugged when student doc found the link, given massive steroid dose & recovered!

Chronic Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis?
Saw a Professor who is an expert in lung disease today and she told me that Birmingham was wrong in telling me I have IPF.. Looking at my lung biopsy results together with CT scan shows I have an auto-immune disease. Had a load of blood tests to try and isolate which one. They want to treat it with

Really Confused now?
Having been diagnosed with IPF in December a second Consultant and a professor have looked at all of my results including CT scan, X Rays and lung biopsy and have decided I do not have IPF but have actually got ''chronic hypersensitivity
pneumonitis
''.

I have desquamative interstitial pneumonitis (D.I.P for short) and was wondering if anyone else knows/has this condition please
I have had breathing difficulties for a few years now. Last year i had an open lung biopsy and the result was this diagnosis. Finding information on my condition is nearly impossible as it's so rare. All i do know is that it is idiopathic and i am going to need a double lung transplant. From the information

Waiting some more
Apparently I have Methotrexate
Pneumonitis
which has caused the lung inflammation so I am off MTX permanently. He is also referring me to the Chest consultant at the N & N Hospital, Norwich for lung function tests and for the chest consultant to confirm his diagnosis and treatment.

I've finally seen a lung consultant ..woo hoo!
One of the differential diagnosis of my scan was hypersensitivity
pneumonitis
and he thinks it might be that, but of course he isn't sure and I disagree as I have moved from Ireland to England and my breathing is getting worse not better!

Chronic Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis
I was diagnosed two and a half years ago with chronic hypersensitivity
Pneumonitis
with fibrosis. Tests were unable to identify the culprit mould/spore thus making it difficult to avoid. Steroids had kept me well till last autumn but am on the way up again. Strong suspicion the problem is at work.
