Possible side effect?
I started
Pegasys
just about 2.5 months ago. Dose 45 mcg. per week. No real side effects. Then just increased to 60 mcg. per week. Injected on Friday, and Saturday felt sore throat, difficulty swallowing, swollen feet, and labored breathing. Also super gassy and diarrhea.

First Injection of Pegasys
I FINALLY got approved for
Pegasys
, and am to pick it up at the pharmacy by Wednesday. My question is does the first injection happen in the Drs. office, or at home?? Were you given physical instructions for how to give the injection?

Questions about pegasys please
Would I have to have hydroxycarbemide and
pegasys
until the
pegasys
starts to work which I understood can take quite a long time? How long does it take for the body to be rid of the hydroxycarbemide drug?

Recent appointment
I’ve been on
Pegasys
for five and half years and my bloods have been largely stable apart from a dip in HGB to 116 which has now recovered to 123 in the last two weeks. Platelets hover around 300. Five months ago he reduced
pegasys
from 90mcgs once a week, to every 2 weeks .

Jakafi out of stock
Hi all fellows in MPN, I just met my doc and informed that Malaysia especially Kuala Lumpur hospitals out of stock for Jakafi and
Pegasys
. If you have a plan to see your doc in very near time, pls ensure to ask more for your buffer stock. Cheers

Pegasys and Sun
Hello, while on
Pegasys
do we still have to avoid or minimise sun exposure like on Hydrea? Or that's okay to hike in sunny days ?Just wondering as I live in Australia where most of the year is really hot and sunny. Thank you

Pegasys Update 1.0
In spring 2023 my consultant asked if I'd consider Hydroxy or
Pegasys
to see if it helped. Being a relative youngster I didn't expect this due to age and risk. I certainly didn't expect
Pegasys
to be on the table. Like many MPNers we do our research. Even if it's years down the line.

Eye problems with Pegasys for ET
I began
Pegasys
and immediately had severe dry eyes in the mornings. Three weeks into treatment my vision worsened. I saw a retina specialist and have been diagnosed with macula pucker. Has anyone experience eye problems while on this med?

When on a weekly dose of Pegasys is it ok to occasionally alter the day you inject?
Hi everyone, I’m about to try
Pegasys
in a few weeks time on a weekly dose of 45. If I get any unpleasant side effects I wondered if occasionally it’s ok to put back the usual day of injecting by 24 hours if I had something special on the day of the injection.

sjogens?
When I was dx with PV I took
Pegasys
from April 22 @ 45mg then 60mg then 90mg fortnightly. (On Jakavi since August 23) So took
Pegasys
for about 16 months After a couple of months on
Pegasys
I started to experience close vision problems which could not be corrected with glasses.

Scared about possible side effects of Pegasys!
I have my haematologist appointment in ten days time and I’m going to ask for shared care with Guys hospital and the possibility of changing from hydroxycarbemide to
Pegasys
for various reasons. I am concerned about how side effects of
Pegasys
might impact my life.

Approved or Trials of RBC lowering drugs?
I'm currently taking about 145mcg's of
Pegasys
and my neutrophils just dipped to .87 while my HCT is still in excess of 45. I've been at this dose for several months. HCT has been climbing by .1 or .2 per month while the other numbers continue to drop.

Interferon effects
Hi,I've started my journey with
Pegasys
about 5 weeks ago. I am on 45mcg weekly. Before
Pegasys
my platelets were close to 600 and HCT around 0.55 Today my platelets dropped to 297 and HCT to 0.47 in just 5 or 6 weeks. Should I be happy or concern for fast adjustment ?

ET :Hydroxy to Pegasys
The alternative drug in Australia is the injection
Pegasys
(also on our PBS - hence low cost), which I would like to try. Could anyone who made this switch please give me an idea of their success or4 otherwise, especially weight. The latter is my only drawback re continuing with the hydroxy.

Good News: Pegasys finally working! Bad News: Pulmonary embolus!
If it hadn’t been for the support and shared experiences of others in this forum, I would have lost hope that the
Pegasys
would eventually work. Thank you for keeping me hopeful! I know there are others out there struggling with waiting for the
Pegasys
to work. Hang in there!

Jakavi advice please
I'm on
Pegasys
135ml at the moment but platelets are 729 (going up) and not well controlled. The consultant suggests moving to Ruxolitinib and stopping the Peg, which I've been taking for 9 months now and doesn't appear to be effective.
