Pegasys first dose and bad nausea
In the meantime I started on
Pegasys
45 mcg last night and woke up very nauseous. Any suggestions of which med is good for nausea. I just emailed my MPN specialist and asked for Zofran. Any suggestions are welcome!

Insurance denied Besremi
I will have to take their covered formulary drug,
Pegasys
, and I guess do miserably before they will approve. It’s a disappointment…sigh… Bummed! Kim

PEGASYS and live vaccines
So, does anyone know how long
PEGASYS
stays active in the body and, if so, how long would I have to leave it after having the YF vaccine before I started up the
PEGASYS
again.

Anyone else experience worse side effects on Besremi as compared to Pegasys?
I have decided to switch back to
Pegasys
to restore my quality of life without sacrificing good blood count control. Anyone else feel better on
Pegasys
as compared to Besremi?

Pegasys and anxiety
Can it all be caused by
Pegasys
? Because I have never felt like this before. I used to take 90µg / weekly for 10 months and then 45µg / weekly for the last month. I am currently only on aspirin and still off from
Pegasys
. My blood counts are fortunately ok so far.

Interferons as the First Choice of Cytoreduction in ET and PV
There has been a recent resurgence of interest in interferons for MPNs given the development of pegylated formulations, including pegylated interferon alfa-2a (
Pegasys
), pegylated interferon alfa-2b (PegIntron), and ropeginterferon alfa-2b (Besremi).

Switch from HU to Pegasys - update 4.0
Sat here with a celebratory Twirl and cuppa following a call from my haem: 15 weeks into Peg and stopped HU 7+ weeks ago. Platelets: 347 (337 in Feb) Hct: 0.456 (she’s not worried about the ‘6’) Hb: 154 Neutrophils: 3.15 So, no ‘rebound’ having stopped the HU. Seems as if Peg is ‘doing its thang’ and

Iron Levels
The iron deficiency symptoms got worse than the PV symptoms, That is why I started on
Pegasys
. Later switched to Besremi. While the IFNs are doing a very good job controlling the erythrocytosis, the HCT has been creeping up.

BESREMi 4th dose
Unfortunately, the insurance my job moved to in 2021 refused to cover
Pegasys
because it's off-label. (Thanks, BCBS TX...) In the interim, I received free meds from
Pegasys
' manufacturer, Genentech.

DALIAH INF-HU trial new data analysis
I believe they compared IFNα 2(a)
Pegasys
and IFNα 2(b) PegIntron. They don't go deep enough here to explain. The image here shows CHR for the two INFs and HU. Surprise is the large diff between the two INFs, almost same diff as 2(a) to HU. NE means not evaluated bec of discontinuing.

Suggestions to help manage fatigue
I'm now 31 and have been on
pegasys
interferon and warfarin for the last few years, with things generally ticking along OK. The last couple of months however I've been really struggling with fatigue, which has impacted work and meant I've had to take some time off and do reduced hours.

High Fibroscan ( cirrhosis ) result even after recovering from HCV
Hi , I was diagnosed with Hep C in 2003 and then went through
Pegasys
treatment and SVR was achieved after completion of treatment. I was fine and had no health issues until when I was curious to know if everything is fine. So i want through a lot of liver testings as suggested by my doctor .

Recreational drugs
Does anyone use cannabis or other recreational drugs, who has PV and takes rivaroxyban and
Pegasys
interferon? I am curious, but think no point asking my doctor about this as they couldn't answer if it's safe or not.

Peg-Interferon therapy, contraindications
I have read several posts about the positive experience from peg-ifn therapy (whether
Pegasys
or, more recently, Besremi) , as more of us MPN'ers are switching to these biologics.

Took 2 doses of
Pegasys
and I finally got approved on my 3rd appeal! What are the most common side effects that I might expect to see? I have Budd Chiari syndrome so hoping it’s not too harsh on my liver! Thanks in advance for any advice! Jeanie
