Is there anyone that can tell me their experience with jakafi for PCV. I also have vitiligo and alopecia and Jak 2 inhibitors are helping people with those conditions. My dermatologist just recommended talking to my MPN specialist about this drug? I just recently started Pegasys for my PCV.

Hi JeanieRN. Why are you seeing a dermatologist? If it's because you have a BCC or similar it's advisable not to take JAKAFI. If you read the paper about the drug it specifically states it. I have been taking it for 18 months but for that reason I am being given INTERFERON.

My dermatologist is for my alopecia and vitiligo which has recently spread a lot. Jakafi is really helping people with these autoimmune conditions as they are caused by an overactive immune system. However, I was started on Pegasys because my MPN specialist felt that was the best treatment for my PCV. I do indeed want to take the best medication in hopes of putting my PCV into possible remission as my numbers are pretty good!
