Post ablation
I had a cardiac ablation 2 days for PAfib . I’m feeling well and was told the procedure went smoothly. I had thought that after the procedure I would gradually reduce the medication over a period of perhaps 3 months or so. Instead I’ve been told to take the same dosage as before for 3 months and then

The natural compound atraric acid suppresses androgen-regulated neo-angiogenesis of castration-resistant prostate cancer ...
Came across this tonight. According to the investigators, a compound isolated from Pygeum africanum is the first naturally occurring AR antagonist. While papers on this isolate appear more than a decade ago, the detailed discussion of various mechanisms at play as Pca evolves from castration sensitive

Some interesting questions. Cost of cardioversion?
Hello everybody, Here are some interesting questions. I had 4-5 episodes of AFIB about 4 years ago. It ended with me getting an ablation in December of 2018. I had been AFIB-free 3.5 years. Last week I had an episode. My heart was not beating too fast and I was not feeling too bad. That's quit different

Eliquis/but easy bruiser
Hi, Thoughts: I have been diagnosed with PSVT and a 30 monitor detected only one episode of Afib. My apple watch is what prompted my seeing a cardio as it detected irregular heartbeats. I was on eliquis and no episodes and not spikes, so cardio said to stop taking it and see how it goes. Well, watch

Afib or palpitations?
Once in a while I get very irregular heartbeats after I go to bed at night. My Dr. said they are palpitations and not afib and did not occur during the 24 hour holter monitor, but I noticed a pattern as to when they occur: always after a very salty and probably MSG restaurant meal and a few drinks with

Pacemaker Afib
I have chronic Afib. Have had one ablation and currently on Tikosyn... so far, so good. But, is a pacemaker an option? If you have a pacemaker can you get off the Tikosyn and Diltiazem?

Eating after starting an Afib Episode?
Note: I am thinking about Paroxysmal rather than permanent Afib. I wondered about this and was surprised not to find anything here. Anyone care to share positive or negative experiences? So if you have made dinner and slip into Afib, would you still eat it? Or eat a snack if hungry? Have you perchance

Latest blood test results, where do I start?!
Afternoon everyone, I posted recently and went away to get some more blood tests, I've now got the bulk of the recent results. I'm on the waitlist for a total thyroidectomy but until then I'm just trying to improve my symptoms (mainly lack of patience, irritability, low libido, fatigue, anxiety etc

Just starting Lexapro and am nervous about side effects. Don’t want additional anxiety. What is the best time of day to take it? Thanks!

Thriva Blood test results- some help please :)
I was advised on my last post to get my bloods done again and go from there- so that's what I've done! Thriva were one of the cheaper options, but with an advanced Thyroid profile, I can highly recommend! So easy to test at home and send off, got my results back in 2 days on their app! Background: I

Well, It's always something new and fun
Hey All.... Well, I have PAF and had a echocardiogram the first time in some years (new cardiologist, etc). So...discovered I have mitral valve leakage (regurgitatuon). It's moderate at this point with a EF of 60%. Hope that some others may have experience with this "combo". What has your journey

Oooops!!!
I have had a bit of a stomach bug for the last day or 2 and was just waiting for it to trigger my Afib. Lo and behold it happened this morning. Woke up fine and then boom Afib as soon as I moved my bowels. I have pill in the pocket and took it almost straight away. Normally this sorts me out in about

New to the medical field
I'm new to the medical field, as in less than 2 years of experience. I'm a SRNA at a LTC facility. Have a resident that went into Afib at the hospital. They had normal vitals (temp, pulse, O2, respirations and manual B/P) as they left my Facility less than an hour before they left. I'm just wondering

Who will prescribe my medication after total thyroidectomy?
Hello, I am having a TT on March 2nd and am wondering whether I will be discharged with a starter dose of Levo, and who I will see after that for getting the dose up to the right level? I’ve tried asking my GP but the answer was very unclear. Thanks in advance for your help!

AR L702H question
So Mike did the guardant analysis and it says he has 1.5%ctDNA or mod for the AR L702H gene mutation. I know this is associated with castration resistance but is there other relevant information about what this might mean? Are there trials for this? Does this mean some treatments might not work as

Blood thinners?
I would like to know if everyone diagnosed with paroxysmal afib is on blood thinners? My EP wants me to start taking xeralto but I am reluctant (reason is a liver leason) however I am on baby aspirin. My afib episodes are short, couple of minutes only but I have ectopics a lot. My doc's explanation
