How active were/are you with Olaparib (Lynparza)?
Hi all, I had my 6th and last dose of chemo (nab-
paclitaxel
+ carboplatin) 4 weeks ago. I started Olaparib today. I am supposed to start work at 40% 1st of May, and increase by 20% each month.

On Palbociclib and Letrozole for 21 days, CA153 elevated. Er+Her2-
Before that, I had 15 weekly Taxol (
paclitaxel
) sessions. Until 12 sessions, CA153 decreased to 83 but again started rising to 137, so the Doctor prescribed Palbo + Letrozol. Started pacli from 142 CA 153. [u][i]
So can you please provide your experience?

Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer initial chemo didn’t work
Diagnosed in June of Stage 3c Ovarian Cancer, surgery was not recommended instead she started on chemo
Paclitaxel
and Carboplatin. After completing 3 cycles, the scan showed the cancer is resistant and tumours are slightly bigger than before. Previously she was moving bowel but now it’s stopped.

diagnosed HGSOC stage 3A2
Hi everyone, I’m new to this group as recently diagnosed and currently having 6 sessions of chemo (
paclitaxel
& carboplatin) every 3 weeks, although just had a delay on my 3rd session as white blood count too low 🤦♀️ and awaiting genetic testing results.

Failed tumour surgery, what are my options now?
I underwent radical debulking in June followed by 6 cycles of carboplatin and
paclitaxel
chemotherapy which finished in November 2022. I had a PET scan in December and was told in January 2023 that I had disease progression and a new tumour in the pelvis.

Recurrence for clear cell ovarian cancer
I started
paclitaxel
and carboplatin and had 6 cycles every 3 weeks finishing on the 27th September. My CA125 remained at 10. I began Niraparib in the November and my CA125 was already starting to rise although I didn't know until just before christmas when I went to see my oncologist.

Has anyone experience of weekly rather than 3 weekly chemo sessions?
I then saw the oncologist who gave me more info on the chemo (
Paclitaxel
& carboplatin) on a 3 week cycle.

Paclitaxel and going away for a few days
Do you think my husband would be able to have his
paclitaxel
infusion at the hospital in Plymouth instead of the usual Newcastle hospital? If he gets a PICC line put in could he be given the
paclitaxel
solution to use when away? Just trying to continue having some sort of normality in our lives …

Reaction to Chemo Drug
I suffered an immediate severe reaction to chemo drug
Paclitaxel
and had to have an antidote administered in order to recover. The other2 drugs were ok(Carboplatin & Bevacizumab). I was told that some ladies have this reaction but when they take this drug a 2nd time they have no problem.

ICON8 Trial
I thought I'd already heard them and let you all know but for those that don't know anything about it, it was a trial to see if giving carboplatin every three weeks and
paclitaxel
once a week for a total of eighteen weeks would be better than giving both every three weeks.

the man ( woman) with a treatment plan says :
Combined chemo ( carboplatin and
paclitaxel
)once a week / radio every day mon to fri for 6 weeks followed , if I’ve got the appropriate markers with immunotherapy as follow on … they said it was a brutal regime but they are aiming for a curative outcome ( this was tempered with the high % of recurrences

Still here 15 years later
I’ve had the same chemotherapy drugs every time - Carboplatin and Taxol (
Paclitaxel
). So please don’t give up hope as you embark on or as you continue along this journey with ovarian cancer. Be well. Be happy.

Scalp Cooling Saves Hair in 75% of Cases
This multi-center clinical trial, just published in Supportive Care and Cancer, studied reducing post-infusion cooling time after weekly
paclitaxel
to 20 minutes and demonstrated similar success rate of 75% compared to the usual 90-minute post infusion cooling.
