Melanoma stage 3C
Hello everyone! Just want to introduce myself. I’m 23 years old and I was diagnosed with stage 3C melanoma on my left inner elbow in April of 2018. I had a wide excision done and a sentinel lymph node biopsy of my armpit. I had one node that was cancerous which led me to starting the Opdivo immunotherapy

I think I write too much?
Some days I feel like I update this a lot! So I’m sorry if everyone sees my name pop up a lot. Just want to tell you guys where we are. Not only has treatment halted.. his neurologist took his gabapentin down. Which in turn made him have a seizure :( he was on 400mg 3 times a day, and she took out

Nausea, vomiting AFTER Opdivo therapy
After about 1 year after the last dose of Opdivo I struggle with almost daily nausea, vomiting and almost total lost of appetite. Doctors so far could not find reasonable explanation, cause. Except for a slight motility issue with my stomach. Does anybody know this problem too and has advice on how to

Fevers have been harsh
Hey guys, Second infusion; and I spoke too soon. I should know better 😕 the fevers have been pretty bad. Although no other side effects accompany them. Which is good. It usually always happens in the middle of the night, around 2:00AM. Not really understanding why.. but thankful that’s all it is. Last

Endoscopy results and more tests to come
Hello everyone, Some of Marks endoscopy results came back. He has Barrett’s esophogus which is a pre-cancerous condition. (He was supposed to have a resection of his esophogus years ago, but he didn’t want to do it) and a Hiatal Hernia. They found a strange mucous that they are not sure what it is,

Avastin side effects?
Hi. I just had a question with others on avastin about joint pain muscle pain and exhaustion. My chemo treatment ended 10 months ago and after trying opdivo I was put on avastin only to treat the ovarian cancer that progressed while under chemo. I am finding that I have some very strange side effects

Ryan is finally switching medications on Tuesday.. the anxiety is never ending. He keeps telling me I have to let it go and just be positive. It’s hard.. I am doing my best to verbalize that everything can and will be fine; but I’m really scared. The yervoy opdivo combo has knocked a lot of people on

PET scan update
Just got the word that Ryan’s PET scan was completely clean! Again, this is absolutely miraculous.. From not being able to walk from being completely crippled on Halloween to now. The clean PET scan means we can now make a safe move to the yervoy opdivo combo; with a clean slate. So if anything shows

Immunotherapy for prostate cancer continues to disappoint, but at least we are learning why
I've updated this article about the importance of timing in prostate cancer therapies with the early results of the "CHECKMATE 650" clinical trial that combined nivolumab (Opdivo) and ipilimumab (Yervoy). Only 25% of men with mCRPC who hadn't yet had chemo had any early response (and only 10% of men

Combination of two immunotherapy drugs, showing positive results on patients with no treatments left and cancer spreading (not a false hope)
This is very interesting article to read. At a cancer conference , MD Anderson Cancer Center scientists presented preliminary data from a new study showing the use of two drugs that release immune system brakes benefited some patients whose tumor had spread to another region and no longer responded

Need advice!!!
So Ryan’s oncologist just called and said that the Yervoy Keytruda combo is being switched to Yervoy Opdivo combo and I’m fuming. I’m pretty sure she said that it was changed because of an insurance issue and I need advice on what to do. Should I fight for the Yervoy keytruda combo? From what I’m reading

Medical Cannabis for Pain Management in Cancer
I am currently a Stage IV NSCLC Cancer Survivor is looking for guidance and input from anyone who is incorporating Medical Cannabis into their treatment regimen, particularly for pain. NOTE: I personally do not feel there is enough research that shows it can be curative as a treatment cancer

Stage 3, about to start Opdivo
Hello, I'm 29 and was diagnosed with nodular melanoma on my ankle in early December. Since then, I've had a wide excision and two lymphnode biopsies. My excision came back with clear margins, however the groin sentinel lymphnode came back with a small amount of melanoma. My doctor has suggested I do

My husband is a 5+ year lung cancer survivor, but only on several test done regularly recorded as "stable". Without going into all the past history, I have an important question to ask the wise folks on here. Last year we moved from the south into Las Vegas to be close to my family as my husband's

My 46 yr old daughter had melanoma and had metastasized to her brain, over 30 tumors there, but also in liver, adrenal glands, lungs, pancreas, spine and various small tumors in other places Her immunotherapy “ Opdivo” was not the right choice for her. She had radiation on her brain and it had actually
