my father received the 2nd lutetium treatment, brain metastasis occurred, then we started cabataxel he also has a lot of muscle and appetite loss because he has COPD, he has difficulty walking ,also he has difficulty chewing Although his msi and brca tests are negative,can he still use keytruda or olaparib

I’ve been on Olaparib for 2 years but my ca125 has suddenly gone up to 50 last month and 92 this month. Feeling gutted and will be getting a scan. I suppose I just want to know how many have had remission again after a 2nd recurrence?

Has anyone managed to get their private healthcare provider to fund Olaparib the PARP inhibitor? (Or any others?) We’ve always had BUPA cover through hubby’s work but his new job doesn’t give it.

Dear Lovelies, I have now developed severe low haemoglobin twice in the 4 months I have been on olaparib- four blood transfusions in total and am off olaparib for the second time. I am BRCa 2 , so really had great hopes as Brca2’s tend to respond well on this drug, cancerwise. .

I was NED in December and went on Olaparib in January but my scan in May showed that it wasn't working. I have also been told that surgery is not an option now.

Patients in the experimental arm received a poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase inhibitor, olaparib, and patients in the standard-of-care arm received a physician's choice treatment.

Well, I’ve had one year now with chemo and I’m on maintenance of Avastin and Olaparib. Should I have insisted on surgery? Does anyone without surgery survive for any length of time? I would be very grateful to hear from you lovely ladies. X

- After first OC I believe now Olaparib is offered (sadly I’m ‘too long’ post chemo to qualify 🙄) Is it available for 2 years only? After first occurrence- Rucaparib? Or is it Niraparib? Is so, for how long? After second recurrence-Olaparib? Again for how long?

Last month, a few days after the avastin and olaparib, I had a weekend of terrible headaches, stomach ache and vomitting. On the Monday I rang the hospital and they advised me to come in. Typical .. I wasnt sick once while there, it was as if it had cleared up that day.

Just found a scientific post that identifies the above drug can help feed cancer - is this old news ? Kindest Raoul

Olaparib and cediranid thanks

I am BRCA1 and have been told by my consultant that I can have Olaparib (Lynparza) on its own or with Avastin too. She is thinking that maybe Olaparib on its own may be the best option to reduce side effects but she said the decision is mine.

I have been on 600mg Olaparib since March 2021... My bloods are normal CA125 is 11. I am now anxious about all this. Has anyone else had this issue and gone through surgery to repair the hernia? Jas

Hi Wonderwomen, I have been on olaparib for just under 3 months. It depressed my bone marrow production of red blood cells, I became very anaemicand was given 3 blood transfusions last week, taken off olaparib for 14 days and will go back on at 275.

I’ve had 6 rounds of chemo and am now on three weekly Avastin and daily Olaparib. I read lots of success stories but you all seem to have had debulking surgery. Is there anyone out there like me? X

After completing 6 rounds of chemotherapy she was back in remission and was put on Olaparib ( she is BRCA negative) in October. Her latest scan results shows liver metastasis and she has been offered to go on weekly taxol OR an oral chemotherapy drug called Etoposide.

I haven’t posted here for a while but would like some thoughts from anyone who takes olaparib. After an ovarian cancer recurrence I had chemotherapy which finished mid August 2021, I then started olaparib September 2021. I’m tolerating the drugs fine but do get very tired.

The olaparib group (10%) showed a significant improvement in the FACT-P total score compared with the control group (1%; Pnominal = .0065). The median time to pain progression was significantly longer with olaparib than with the control (P = .019).

I am about to complete my frontline chemo for stage 3 OC and I have just been told I am BRCA1+ and so will need breast cancer screening every 6 months with optional prophylactic double masectomy after Olaparib in 2 years. I just wondered what other ladies who are BRCA +ve have done?

I am on olaparib and had a short course of avastin. Has anyone else had this?
