First Hospital Admission
I was helping out at work this morning setting up for our Christmas market and someone jumped over a fire extinguisher and it went off and I wasnt standing too far away and almost instantly I felt my chest tighten and a wheeze start. I started straight away with blue inhaler and the wheeze got so loud

Think this is gonna be a long one... (cause it has been so far... 😅😴)
First up, I am an idiot 😅🙈. Monday, I decided that it was a good idea to sprint (whilst pulling a suitcase) the length of 8 train carriages and up/over/down a bridge (missed the train I was chasing by about 10 secs anyway) in the cold/damp weather... this situation was not my fault I hasten to add

Asthma triggered by ibuprofen?
Yesterday I had a very large hip labral tear repaired. My resps apparently went so low with Fentanyl I wasn’t allowed any more. Apparently that is 10 resps per min. At 8 they have to breath for you. Anyway I am undergoing a raft of tests at the moment as the GP thinks no wheeze and a normal peak flow

Asthma Novice at 32
Hi folks, so I was diagnosed with 'mild asthma' as a late teen. Got the little white inhaler and a few days if be fine. I then had it return 5 years ago at 27 when pregnant and got a blue inhaler. Can you tell I'm a proper novice? Figured I'd grown out of it as I've had no issues since... Until 3 weeks

Thank you to members who responded to my question About prednisolone
Hi everybody, as above thank you and sorry for not responding sooner. Second holiday in a row end up in emergency care, struggling to get my breath and really scared. So what I thought would be a quick fix on a nebuliser to get me breathing again has turned into a two night stay, that’s the US for

Cancerland - my journey so far
Hi everyone I was (mis)diagnosed with stage 1 nsclc squamous back in March 2013. As I was stage 1 surgery was an option. Brilliant I thought. Curable I thought. Wrong! When surgeons went to remove the bottom of my right lung they also found a tumour stuck to my pulmonary artery, far to close to my

Stupid/amusing things heard from medics
Not the asthma bingo points, just things you’ve heard from medics that make 0 sense... let’s look back and laugh now cause I’m sure no one appreciates the comments at the time 😅; ED/AMU consultant - (after 2 nurses and a reg tell me I need to be admitted) ‘we have no beds, so you can go home’ ED/AMU

Other patients 😡
Why do other people think it's ok to spray aerosols in a respiratory ward?! And why do people need to use so much?! Woman sprayed a tonne of it yesterday morning and I had a rubbish day with back to back nebs and so on, by 7ish nurse was concerned that although nebs were doing the trick it had deteriorated

It’s been a loooong night 😴😴
It all started Sunday when I woke with a cold which my gut told me was going to hit my chest. But it’s 10am and I’m just snotty and sinusy and a mild asthma issue. Treat it and reassure my mum (who’d I’d been visiting) I’m not bad enough for hosp. Make my 12 o’clock train and feel dodgy enough I need

She ordered budesonide and brovana
nebulizer
treatments, and I was also on creon and budesonide and sulfasalazine for for infectious bowel disease , and the combination has made me much better. I'm on oxygen 24 hrs. a day, but I'm rarely SOB now.

Nebulisers
Has anyone used a portable nebuliser that is suitable for use on a long flight, i.e. battery powered.

Symptoms more severe than test are showing.
Morning everyone hope everyone is feeling ok, so this week hasn’t been a very good one for me, i seemed to have yet another copd flare up and ended up going a&e struggling with breathing and very very wheezy and generally feeling unwell, I was given a nebuliser and took away steroids and antibiotics,
