Baby constantly poorly after having viral meningitis
My baby boy had viral meningitis at 4 months old last April. He was hospitalised for 4 days and then discharged but it took him a good month to fully recover from it. Ever since the viral meningitis he is constantly poorly like every other week. He’s had ear infections, tonsillitis, bronchiolitis, colds

Normal MRI, EEG -don’t feel normal Vm from shingles
Hi Things keep coming back ‘normal’ but I still get tired and have jerks and a little bit of “ataxia” when tired. I don’t think this is a “functional” or conversion disorder, since this only happened after meningitis but I keep wondering what’s wrong with me? Is it just meningitis recovery?

Side effects of viral meningitis
Hi there. Just joined to ask a question. My son had viral meningitis at 4 weeks old and ended up on a ventilator for a week. Now he’s 5 and although fine physically I worry that he’s attention span and general concentration isn’t v good. Has anyone had experience of this? Could this b due to the meningitis

Bacterial meningitis
Hi everyone, this is my first post. I contacted meningitis March of 2018. I was very lucky that mine was caught pretty quickly. I do however have lasting symptoms and would like to ask anyone out there who is at least 1 1/2 years post recovery and what symptoms you still have and what is working for

Viral Meningitis recovery experience
Hi. My name's Suzie. I was diagnosed with viral meningitis after contracting influenza about 3 weeks ago. I don't really remember much of the first week when I was in and out of hospital - but since being home (and obviously off work) I am feeling a lot better however I am still experiencing headaches

Hi everyone. So my poor 4 month old baby boy was diagnosed with viral meningitis last week. We spent 4 days inhospital and then was discharged as he started to feel lots better. However he is still very up and down. I understand that it’s still only early days but some days he is very happy and like

My mental health after meningitis
Hello guys, Before I start just want to say that I am glad I found a forum like this because it will allow me to connect to others who suffered from meningitis. So I got viral meningitis 9 years ago when I was 10 and I got it through a virus called the "adenovirus". I was knocked out completely unconscious

I was discharged with the catheter and it was removed on March 6th (5 weeks after originally placed) but I was still unable

Am I finally on to something?
I’ve been doing some research and found
Mollarets
Meningitis
. While I don’t have every single symptom - this sounds so close to what I’ve been living with.

Post Meningitis - 2 year old
My son contracted bacterial meningitis (pneumococcal) when he was 11 months old. He fought hard and got through it. All of his MRI scans showed a small amount of brain damage scattered around the brain. He is now almost 2 years old, he is a lovely happy boy, no hearing loss, he understands most things

VM...Can I get it again or have I already...?
Hi, my name is Alex Bourne. I was diagnosed with Viral Meningitis in June of 2014 at 25 years old. I was the healthiest I had even been in my life and had just completed my first marathon the Feb before I got sick. I was feeling tired, weak, very light sensitive the day before I was stricken with a headache

Struggling with the slow recovery from Viral Meningitis.
Hello everyone, I contracted VM back in early April of this year. It all started with my heart beating out of sorts, but not feeling unwell, and I took myself to the ER. They found that my heart was adding a beat here and there, and kept me overnight for observation. I was discharged the following day

Viral Meningitis long term effects of mood change?
Hi. My 21 year old son had a diagnosis from hospital of ‘probable viral meningitis’ 2 years ago. It has recently come to light that he’s been very low and flat for the same period of time. He’s also very lethargic and tired. He’s managed to do 2 years at Uni despite this but now it’s come to a head.
