Treatment for a recovering alcoholic
I first want to thank everyone for sharing. I have learned a lot. I have had RLS since my twenties and I am now 68. I took Mirapex for about 7 years before I began experiencing augmentation. Switching off dopamine agonists to tramadol and lyrica
Just over a month tapering off the miaows and a bit of sinemet. Last night, none and had a dreadful night, as most of the others were too. I knew I was in for a tough time, from all of you here, but it was worse. Really no sleep for the duration. I was on mirapex 0.75 daily, and gradually needed the

Sifrol hell
Hi, I am a 57yo lady. Maybe mid 2018 I was prescribed Sifrol aka Pramipexole, Mirapex etc to combat RSL whilst withdrawing from Slow Release Tramadol used for about 16 years for Fibromyalgia. I had NO idea at the time this drug SIFROL is harder to get off than opiates...unless you use opiate meds

Hi, I've not posted for a long while now. I was wondering if anyone has experience of Neupro Rotigotine patches. I successfully weaned myself off Mirapex from Nov last year, into March this year. Since then I've tried a number of things (all useless) but finally I saw a Neurologist in June who prescribed

Life after quitting Mirapex?
Has anyone successfully quit taking mirapex? Afterwards....are you able to stay off through higher amounts of iron or other means that are non medication? I have had RLS since my pregnancy which was 30 years ago. I went to a neurologist who took iron ferritin test and I was in the 20s range about

Disappointing
So, i saw the neuro today. Went through my whole speech about the legs, etc. Told him the requip basically sucked, made my legs worse, caused insomnia and repetitive thoughts. So....he puts me on.. mirapex. W.T.F?? I flat out asked about methadone and he said, and i quote, "I don't prescribe methadone

Switching from Ropinirole to Mirapexin.
Because of my symptoms my GP is changing me to
Mirapexin
. He has put me on a dose of 1 Tablet at night of 0. 008. I am trying ir tonight but I'm concerned this is is no way equivalent dose of ropinirole.

Parkinson's RX not helping
Shaking of Left Hand, Wrist, Thumb, Fingers, not necessarily at the same time, is resistant to RX Treatment with Mirapex, Sinemet, Rytary, Gabapentin and others. Cramping is significant problem and shake can go from severe to violent. Only modifier is Oxycodone and THC for PM use to reduce pain and

Worst night in months
So I voluntary skipped my 0.0625 mg dose of Mirapex ( having taken it for over 6 months now with the occasional 0.125 mg dose). And it was hell. Beyond hell to be clear. Could not stand the RLS which felt like waves of electric shocks. Survived without the dose only till 12:30 pm and then woke up and

It has been effective but reading about these medicines I am scared to death that it will be a spoil sport for me in the future. What should I do? My neurologist asked me to continue with Mirapex while its effective and according

It's Almost Graduation Day...saying goodbye to RLS
I am 63 and have had RLS since I was 17 yrs old in College. Like most everybody else, the RLS got worse over the years. When Ropenerol was brought to market I jumped all over it. Then the usual augmentation happened with burning feet, insomnia and the need to take more. I switched to Mirapex and quickly

RLS - meds
Hello, I have reached the point where Lyrica and Mirapex don't seem to be working for me as well - I take 2 of each every day. My worst period of time is between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. Sometimes the meds work just fine, the other nights it is atrocious until either my meds start working or I pass out. Saturday

Weighted blanket
I am on day 6 of no mirapex after augmentation. It’s been a rough week, last night I slept for 6 hours straight. More than I’ve slept in a week combined. I used a weighted blanket. Whether or not it’s a coincidence, not sure but it may have just been the extra help needed. Worth a try! I mean what’s

RLS and medications
I have severe RLS. I took Mirapex for 7 years but experienced augmentation. So, for the last 4 years, I have not taken anything. I had to retire early because of the lack of sleep due to the RLS. I developed a yeast infection and was given nystatin which is an antifungal medication. My restless legs
