How to handle going off mirapex
My neurologist decided to take me off mirapex. This is a new neurologist since mine retired. She specializes in sleep problems. I also have sleep apnea. I dont know why she decided to take me off mirapex. When she told me I was in a state of shock. I also take oxycodone. She is taking me off

Belbuca and post surgical pain.
I currently take Belbuca for RLS. I have taken Mirapex and Rotigotine with horrible augmentation symptoms upon stopping. I have also taken Gabapentin with terrible side effects. I also have tried several opioids in the past. I have taken Belbuca for the past several years. I am facing hip replacement

Anyone with RLS have pain as a major symptom, especially with weather change?
hello my friends Pain has become a much bigger symptom for me than the former agitation. In fact, if i take nothing at bedtime, i don't usually have terrible agitation and electricity like i did for 45 years. My major symptom now is pain in the back and legs...it starts up about 10:30pm and lasts until

Gabapentin augmentation?
I have recently been having increased symptoms in arms, legs and torso earlier in the day. I am taking 1500mg gabapentin. I didn’t consider it may be gabapentin augmentation because I had heard it doesn’t cause augmentation like the Mirapex I suffered from severe augmentation. Is it possible that

Suboxone works!
As I stated in my first post, in May, 2023, I have had severe RLS for many years. I suffered augmentation after taking 4 mg Mirapex daily. In September, 2023, my sleep study doctor, at The University of Michigan, prescribed Suboxone. Also known as Buprenorphine and Naloxone 2 mg/0.5 mg. It is a sublingual

Hi everyone!, My name is Lisa. I can't believe there's a group of people who I can reach out to that know the hell I live with. I was diagnosed about RLS & PLMD about 25 years ago. I was 32. I've had 3 sleep studies done. I guess as with everyone, it was a bunch of trials and errors with

Tapering off pramexole
I've been reading this forum for a couple of years and it's really helpful. I'm in the states and I know this is a UK forum so I'm using American measurements. A little background. Thirteen years ago my husband complained I was treating the bed like a trampoline. I was sleeping through all of it, except

Trying to determine the right pace for tapering use of Neupro
I have started my second attempt at withdrawing for a dopamine agonist. This time Neupro. The first attempt was Mirapex. SueJohnson suggested I switch to different medication, but an appointment with my neurologist here in Brasil is not so easy to get so I would like to continue to decrease my intake

Iron levels checked
Had an iron panel completed. 2 important numbers. Ferritin 102, saturation 29 percent. Now what. Dr says both normal. Every test I take, everything comes back normal so why have I had RLS since childhood and at 76 getting 2-3 hours sleep because I have to walk the floors all night and getting worse and

Therapulse - Do I really need to scale up slowly the way the maker says to?
I've had RLS for decades & currently take Horizant, methadone, and a small amount of Mirapex (I ran into trouble when I tried to drop the Mirapex completely so my specialist suggested leaving a small amount in for now). To help further lower my med doses, or to help with handling flareups without increasing

Mirapex
hi! My first post… just finding out about the dangers of this drug today and I’m in a bit of shock. I was taken off the medication abruptly without warning or notice of side effects/ withdrawal. I have been in agony but thinking it was in my head. how long does one need to be on this med to have damage

Getting Desperate!
First time poster here! I'm from North Mississippi and I'm needing advice. I have had RLS since 2010 and once I finally got the meds right after diagnosis, I have had very little issues with it. I first tried gabapentin with no relief, then Mirapex with no relief, then Requip worked like a charm.

Psilocybin
Dear friends: I recently read a post by someone who had a resolution of RLS after medically supervised use of psilocybin. After taking Mirapex, Gabapentin, OxyContin, Methadone, and Horizant, I am desperate for alternatives. The poster lives in CA as do I. I am unable to locate the post via searching

Finally, I have no more symptoms of RLS - through diet alone! I eat no more than 40G carbs/day, eat at least 50G protein/day, eat no sugar, maple syrup, sugary drinks, jams, jellies - nothing with a glycemic index over 40, eat only low histamine foods, and follow all the other traditionally recommended

what to do?
a few months ago, I finally decided to try meditation, specifically C/L. I had no reaction to instant release, so we tried titrating up on CR C/L 25/100. I got up to 2 pills three times a day. I was on this dose 3-4 weeks and I happened to have a neurologist appointment. They said there’s no reason to

Introduction and looking for feedback
Hello everyone. Like many here, I've had Restless Legs Syndrome for a long time. I was diagnosed in 2003 after a sleep study, but suspect I had it many years before being diagnosed. RLS was the first medication I was ever prescribed and it completely changed my life. I really don't know who I would be

Mirapex for depression
My mom is currently taking .250 mg of Mirapex once at night and once in the morning. Taking in the morning because it helps with anxiety to for her. Wanting to go up to .250 at night and keep .125 during the day. She seems to be building tolerance and not helping as much as initially did at the beginning
