Metadate

We have good sleep right now on Metadate but needed longer acting so switching. I can't remember the dose right now but the lowest I think.

Psychiatrist recommended Metadate, a stimulant. Is this the same as Ritalin. Any tips and feedback would be helpful.

Currently taking 40 mg Metadate CD. Doesn’t last all day and still having trouble with impulsiveness and emotional control

my son has tried Focalin short and long acting, Jornay PM, Adderal xr and Metadate CD. We have never had great luck with maki my a big difference, especially in the emotional dysregulation. He takes Abilify, Clonidine, Prozac and Lamictal also.

He currently takes Metadate CD 50mg, Prozac 20mg, Clonidine .3 (.2 in the am and .1 in the pm), Lamictal 75mg and Abilify 25mg. My son has always struggles with aggressiveness, impulsiveness and being disruptive at school. A week ago today his Abilify was increased to 25mg.

We've tried Methylphenidate, Metadate, Adderrall, Vyvanse, Concerta and the old patch. These were tried at different ages but most caused more anger, not enough sleep, losing weight and loss of almost all short term working memory.

It’s been a few days on the metadate, and he’s really irritable and still having the same school issues.

He tried Metadate, but we stopped it because of side effects (moodiness and anger). We've recently switched to Guanfacine. He was taking 1mg/day with no noticeable side effects (but not a great improvement in focus, either).

So right now we are at 20 mg of extended release Ritalin (called Metadate or something like that) and it seems to me like she is getting more anxious and having some trouble falling asleep at night.

Metadate, Daytrana, Methylin, Quillivant, Quillichew ER, Ritalin - OMG Janice Rodden! are you OK? do you have a compulsion to assure people that most people don't get side effects from ritalin while minimizing the fact that you're talking about ritalin? My understanding is ~20% experience tics.

Just curious if anyone else’s child has experienced tics with Metadate CD. My son initially started taking Metadate CD last year and we noticed a tic that started where he shoves his fingers in his butt. Over time it subsided some and wasn’t as frequent.

Our almost 7 yr old ADHD son was just prescribed it - and we are nervous about starting meds. Anyone have experience with this particular med? Please advise!!

He currently takes Metadate CD, Focalin for afternoon and evening boosters, Prozac, Abilify. Recently he started intuniv….. We are struggling with his intense outburst of anger when he’s mad. Usually triggered by homework, not getting what he wants or he’ll just be in a “mood”.

She has ADHD and takes Metadate in the mornings and also Prozac because she had extreme tantrums and mood swings, though that is a little better.

I read about Metadate CR and how it has a supposedly smooth metabolism? Any thought?

Hi All, My long acting med (Metadate) fizzles about 5 hours after I take it and short acting Ritalin fizzles after about 2.5. Anyone (particularly women) have this issue? Bonus if you’re also on an SSRI? Want to ask my doc about specifics.

He is now on Metadate 10 mg and Ritalin 5 mg and I'm not sure if it's helping him. He is getting into problems at school.

We have an appointment tomorrow, but slowly I am loosing faith that we will find the right medication :( He tried Metadate, Concerta, Adderal, Methylphenidate, Guanfacine and Vyvance. All with initial ok, and then fiasco. This time is the worst. I am fighting inside . I cry.

Also, the psychologist wants my son to start Metadate at the same time. How am I supposed to keep track of what is causing what?
