New meds added what to expect
This has now changed, all still as above but at different times (more spread out) Now added as below 1 X
madopar
in the morning 125mg, 1x sinemet cr at night, 1x entacpone 200g at night, 1 added clomazapam 0.5 ( so 2 of these now instead of one) at night.

Medication Question
I take 1/2
Madopar
250 & 1/2 Comtan 200 twice per day. It takes about an hour for the meds to take effect, then they last for about 2 hours or 2 1/2 hours. So I only get 4-5 hours relief each day. My last doctor suggested I take the meds 3 times per day plus a time released
Madopar
at bedtime.

Confirmation Brian has PSP!
Having a 'lightbulb' moment and checking 'Google' I asked if it could be Parkinson's - it was a possibility and Brian was referred to the 'Falls Clinic' but falls came thick and fast and he was fast tracked to a Consultant who immediately started him on

I was taking 24mg of Ropinerole which eventually caused mental fatigue and this has now been reduced to 4mg and am also taking 100/25
Madopar
which has improved my mental state but I feel less mobile. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

Difference between Sinemet and Madopar (Co-beneldopa)
A couple of days ago someone on this site asked me what the difference was between these two after I had posted that Sinemet made me confused whereas
Madopar
was almost miraculous in its effect.

Madopar prescripted Madopar for 15 years old
Doctor said to give my 15 years old brother
Madopar
(he has parkinson-like syndroms) I read that it mustn't be given to people under the age 25. I'm interested, in detail - what exactly will happen if it is taken by a person under 25?

Madopar 62.5
I am taking
Madopar
62.5 - 3 capsules, 4 times per day. My Neuro says that is still a small dose. In times of stress or before a game of golf, I sometimes take 4 capsules which seem to help lessen the effect of OFF time.

Feeling my way
Diagnosed just over two years ago I was then started on
Madopar
ramped up too quickly, after a week I couldn't move I felt so ill so stopped. A month later I tried it with Sinemet, same reaction. So the past couple of years I've just been on Selegeline.

Knowledge is Power: understanding our medications.
Guess what levadopa ( sinemet,
madopar
etc) half life is 60 - 90 minutes!! Research shows that altogether it lasts up to 3 1/2 hrs. Not long is it. In the beginning you can store a bit so once, twice or three times a day medication regimes work.

Bradykinesia
At diagnosis I tried
Madopar
and later on Sinemet, looking back I think the drs then had me increase the dosage too quickly and soon I felt so ill I was unable to work. Not nauseous but completely fatigued, sweaty, felt terrible. So I stopped both trials after a week or so.

Taking Parkinson's meds with food
I'd imagine not everyone is fully aware that taking Parkinson's medications, such as Sinemet or
Madopar
, ought NOT to be taken, according to the information given in the following link, at the same time as eating a meal with protein in it.

LSVT Big!
I was initially started on
Madopar
with no positive response, just bad reactions and I felt so sick I couldn't even work. Tried Sinemet instead in case it made a difference but again once I got up to a certain level I felt very ill so went off that too.
