Moon Face
I quickly got the Moon Face which I understand is common on steroids. I hate it. Also I am already putting on weight. Went on the diet doctor web site which is good and gives details of a low carb diet which my rheumy recommended. I am on 50 mg of Pred and wonder if the moon face goes when the dose

Horlicks for osteopenia?
Diagnosed with PMR and GCA in January, 2015, an early DEXA scan showed up osteopenia and I was prescribed Calceos tablets. My diet had been rather lacking in dairy so I increased my intake of cheese, butter and milk etc. only for my usually low cholesterol levels to shoot up to 5.9. However, my sister

Dental Implant: ? Reactions to Titanium Implant? ? Nickel content.
Any thoughts on dental implants? 10 days after my second dental implant nearly 2 years ago I was so ill. Fever, tingling in face, pain under shoulder blades. Saw 4 doctors in as many days. Hospital A & E after a week. By then fever settling down but low pulse rate. Some "type of virus" apparently. Over

Going round in circles!
I was diagnosed in March with GCA and PMR, I started on 60 mgs of prednisone a day, reducing monthly. I am now on 20 mgs a day. Whilst on holiday I developed a DVT which led to a pulmonary embolism. I started taken warfarin. Two weeks ago and lots of irritating symptoms like night sweats, hand shakes

"Pred sandwich" & Vit C?
Hello all! PMRPro's response to Verdala is the first I think I've read of the Vit C "pred sandwich" at start of dosing. I'm on 12 mg pred daily at this time (down from 15mgs in Dec). Are there suggested doses of vit C and why it is helpful to sandwich the Pred in Vit C when you start? I currently

Holiday
Hi folks I am now on 12.5mg Pred and about to go on holiday to Majorca for two weeks. I have decided to continue on this regime until I return although my G.P. Advised dropping to 10mg. Can anyone tell me if my facial hair growth will slow down with the Pred reduction? Or once you have it will you
