Tachycardia
Rather a long post I’m afraid. In 2000 I was 44 and developed unstable angina over 4 months. My husband had BUPA with his work so I saw a cardiologist quickly, put on aspirin, Bisoprolol and GTN. The cardiologist was always unsure whether it was a blockage to my LAD or a spasm and I was due to undergo

Multiple cardiac medications
Good morning. I hope everyone is well :). I have recently been prescribed with some new heart medication, which will take my overall intake to about 5 different medications a day. Up until recently, I was only taking one heart medication, with GTN spray as and when required. I have a previous history

I don't quite understand?
So what is being "Policed" here is natural progression? Surely it is quite natural to progress a subject as it tumbles around an educated group and when it runs out of steam, someone else will bring the group back on track with another "CLEAN" post! That is how a democracy works - well at least I and

Clonidine for hypertension
Hello, Does anyone have experience with taking clonidine for hypertension? My FWP has been experiencing fluctuating blood pressure (anything from 102/66 or lower to 180/90 or even 200/80 on occasions) and his cardiologist has been adjusting his meds but they don’t seem to be that effective. We

Triple Bypass 2 years on.
I sometimes reply to the questions and experiences of others but I don't instigate threads, so this is an exception. Two years ago today, age 64, I was in surgery for triple CABG following a heart attack and one stent in 2019, and a return of some symptoms such as pressure in upper chest and awful jaw

Do long acting nitrates affect sleep?
Hi, hoping someone that has experience with taking long acting nitrates can help answer my question. I was prescribed Isosorbide Mononitrate 25mg by my GP for angina but I am worried it may affect my sleep. Has anyone else had an issue with it affecting their sleep? I took it once and got a horrible

Chest Pain Clinic
Went for my appointment today at the chest pain clinic after my suspected Unstable Angina attack on Easter Sunday. They did an ECG, took my weight and height and then I spoke to the Cardiologist. After going through my medical history and asked about what I do for a living he's told me that as my ECG

Training on using defibrillators and CPR
I sometimes marshal on parkruns and competitions. Thankfully automatic defibrulatrors are becoming more common. Last time a competitor collapsed with angina like symptoms in front of me I had no idea of the protocol to follow (my dilemma was made worse by having a GTN spray with me). Has anyone had

Hi all, I have recently been told I have Angina and am waiting for an angiogram. I have been prescribed Atorvastatin 40 mg, aspirin 75mg and been given a nitrolingual spray to use when needed. My question is how do I know when to use the spray ? I seem to be getting paranoid. I very often have a 'feeling

Unstable Angina - Male 53 years old
On Easter Sunday I attended church with my wife and about midway through mass I started to get a tight sensation in the middle of my chest. At first I thought it was just a bit of nasty heartburn and waited for it to pass, but the pain got worse and started to feel like something was being forced into

UPDATE on seeing the surgeon
Hi all, Well I saw the surgeon yesterday in fact there were two of them and my appointment lasted 35minutes😳. It didn’t go as I wanted, but I did get some answer’s, they were very good and explained everything. They showed me my angiogram and my CTC results and explained all the flow patterns. My two

I was diagnosed in 2016 and had 2 stents. Was originally told it would be 3 but one was was too small to stent. Have had attacks since then which have been managed by the usual meds and GTN spray. However, since having covid a month ago I have had more incidents than in the last year. Has anyone else

Newly diagnosed MVA
I am newly diagnosed with Microvascular Angina after months of chest pains, fatigue and feeling generally poorly. An angiogram showed my main arteries are all ok. Therefore it turned out that it is this disease. It is a relief that I can put a name to my condition but equally not great because it’s not
