Many of us wonder why our symptoms aren't relieved when first beginning thyroid hormone replacements, i.e. levothyroxine (T4) for instance that should convert to
liothyronine
(T3) which is the 'active' thyroid hormone needed in our millions of T3 receptor cells.

Current Thyroid test results
I was on 50mcg of Levo and 20mcg of
Liothyronine
. I have since increased levo to 75 and dropped Lio to 15. I'm still feeling awful and hypo and wonder if Im ever going to get where I need to be. In the comments that came with the results they said that I'm subclinical hyper. How is this?

Starting Liothyronine - any advice?
I finally saw the endo today. I am so relieved that she is willing to add some T3 to my schedule. She prescribed 5 mcg and told me to take it with my levothyroxine in the morning. Any advice on what to be aware of as I add this in? Also, to follow up from an earlier post of mine, she said it actually

What to do about T3 anxiety?
Started with 25mcg Synthroid, over a number of years settled on 80 mcg Levothyroxine compounded SR with 12 mcg
Liothyronine
. Had thyroid lobectomy in November 2021 and my new endocrinologist switched me to 88 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg Cytomel.

( not the GP who reduced my dose as I’ve refused to talk to him) 50 levothyroxine and 10
liothyronine
, same manufacturer.

T3 starting dose and when to take it?
Hi all, I have finally been able (through my own endeavours) to source
liothyronine
) Having read previous posts I understand it is best to start on a low dose split throughout the day, I would appreciate any advice on how to do this please. Can I take them with thyroxine?

Why liothyronine treatment is opposed - it's the money, folks
This paper lets the cat out of the bag by openly promoting lessening of
liothyronine
prescription purely on the basis of cost/patient - little said about patient reaction, rather a sneering attitude of those few doctors who will prescribe T3.

Finally good news on desiccated thyroid (my doctor thinks I might be able to get it on NHS)
share something positive for once: by accident instead of my usual endocrinologist another consultant in the local NHS hospital called me for the update appointment: I was honest about not responding to the last prescription after 6 weeks (my t3 was lower than before starting medication, even on 49mcg

The price of T3 - and how it has been ramped up
Long thread on twitter by Billy Kember right now about the plot to raise the price of
liothyronine
in the UK. apparently it's from a book he's written: https://uk.bookshop.org/books/sick-money-the-truth-about-the-global-pharmaceutical-industry/9781838850258

Liothyronine prescription for none UK brand T3
When I was first diagnosed 14 years ago as hypothyroid, I meekly accepted the T4 medication and believed my health would recover. Fast forward to 2012 and I was in a very bad way thanks to Teva T4 debacle. Then I found TUK and this site and started to take charge of my thyroid health.

How much T3/T4 should I take?
I've been looking into obtaining
Liothyronine
(probably Tiromel 25 mcg) to supplement the Levothyroxine I currently take. Hypothyroidism runs in my family - I've been on T4 since I was 19 and my daughter since she was 11.

Strange symptoms
test shows TSH is less 0.05U/L (0.4 to 5.5) and he should reduce my dose but I ask him not to as I'm really sensitive to symptoms so he won't and he says however, my Free T3 were in the normal range with a T4 of 13.3pmols/L (11 to 26) and T3 4.8pmols/L (3 to 6) Currently on Levothyroxine 75mcg and

Does Sigpharm Liothyronine still work?
I even up dosed my
liothyronine
, the FT3 number was excellent. I began to think whether Sigma Pharm lio is no longer good for me. Does anyone else experience the similar problem? Thanks
