Finally prescribed liothyronine (T3) via NHS
After struggling and fighting GPs and hospital since 2021, I was finally prescribed
liothyronine
(T3). I was told to start taking 5mcg twice a day and the brand will be Morningside. Was not told wether I should reduce levothyroxine now. It's usually reduced in 25mcg, isn't it?

T3/T4 combo issues
I’m beginning to think that taking
Liothyronine
is not helping me and wondering if I should go on to just Thyroxine. I’m going to make an appointment with my Thyroid Dr to see what she thinks but I was wondering if anyone else was having similar issues.

Does anyone have experience with this brand of
liothyronine
? I'm having to switch to it from my current brand and wondering if it is just as effective as other brands (I'm usually pretty sensitive to brand changes). Are the pills easy to split up?

This time, though, a new

eventful consultants visit.
I was then given an exam into my knowledge of the thyroid and pituitary gland 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙… Why after looking on google I thought I Could take
liothyronine
…..I told him that I had realised a long time ago that with this illness you have to fend for yourself as there is virtually zero help.

Dr Pete Taylor’s Fund Thyroid Research Petition 📣🔔🔊💬
However 10-15% of patients despite levothyroxine treatment have persistent ill health, although some find their symptoms improve dramatically with
liothyronine
(another thyroid hormone).

Liothyronine Trial
I saw an NHS Endocrinologist last week who has agreed to my request for a 3 month trial of
Liothyronine
, something I have wanted for many years. The suggestion is to drop from 75mcg levothyroxine daily to 25mcg and to take 5mcg of T3 in the morning and again at lunchtime.

Thyroid Eye Disease (TED) talk 13.08.23 (7-8pm)
I have TED with Hashimotos and found that the addition of
Liothyronine
hugely benefited many of my TED symptoms. Combination treatment helped reduce my eye lid swelling, eye pain and proptosis.

Will lowering T3 dose raise TSH?
I can function on my current dosage of 50 mcg levo and 60 mcg
Liothyronine
, spread over two days. My doctor wants to halve the T3 dose for 2 weeks and then again halve it to see if the TSH comes up.

Teva Liothyronine shortage?
I’ve just been to the pharmacy to collect Teva
Liothyronine
to be told there’s a shortage from the manufacturer. Not sure if I’m being told this because someone ignored their system which says to order Teva? Is anyone in this situation? Have been given Mercury Pharma. Thanks
