Good morning, my pharmacist can not get Mercury Pharma Liothyronine.
I understand Another company has taken over. Has this LT3 been rebrandedand if so does it have the same fillers/excipients? I really do not want to change to another brand with different fillers>absorption rate>therapeutic effect. Is there an equivalent LT3 on the market with the similiar excipents?

My GP has no idea how hypothyroidism has affected me.
He told me that my blood my TSH is elevated and that I need an increase of
liothyronine
. I told him I have an appointment with the Endocrinologist in a week or so, hence the blood test. He then asked me when I was going back to work as I have been off for quite a while. I'm afraid I got cross.

Studies comparing Levo mono vs Levo/Lio combo T4/T3 treatment
In adults requiring thyroid hormone replacement treatment for primary hypothyroidism who feel unwell while taking levothyroxine, is combination treatment including levothyroxine and
liothyronine
superior to the use of levothyroxine alone?

Liothyronine 5mcg
I've been changed from (splitting) a 20 mcg to 5mcg doses, but so far have only found brands that contain gelatine. As a vegan, I'm trying to avoid gelatine (& lactose, and certainly mannitol too on health grounds!) - and finding it very difficult to look up a list of ingredients for each brand. Does

Feeling relieved
She has prescribed
liothyronine
, going on my private tests, and ordered blood tests, including one for my adrenal levels I believe. She even asked if I'd taken my levo, because it gives a better base line reading if you have not.

GP reducing Levo dose based on blood tests only. Need evidence/papers to show under dosing is potentially harmful too
Update March 2024: I finally saw a Prof of Endocrinology in December 2023 , who determined I did need
Liothyronine
. A shared care agreement was arranged with my GP and finally last week I started on a trial of
Liothyronine
. Thank you to everybody who responded and all information supplied.

Reassurance about taking T3 during pregnancy
I had a consult with Dr Momi who got me to up my levo from 50-100 and prescribed
liothyronine
10mcg 2x per day. (Ideally this would have started lower and titrated up but in order to try and mitigate potential miscarriage I went straight onto this dose).

change of Levo from Accord/Actavis to Vencamil
I also take 15mcgm Sigma Pharma
liothyronine
. The result for T3 was 83% through range which is around my usual level. I found out that helvella and others had yellow carded the Accord/Almus levo as not delivering the correct dose (underdosing) of T4 and so I did the same.

Advice on Progress with T3 Trial
My Endo asked me to reduce my Levothyroxine from 75 to 25mcg and to add 2 x
Liothyronine
5mcg. I made changes slowly but was alarmed at dropping to 25mcg T4 so alternated with 50/25, eventually keeping at 50 mcg after an interim Medichecks blood test.

Blood test timings help please
I take 100mg levothyroxine at 10pm, 10mcg
Liothyronine
at 7am and 5mcg
Liothyronine
at 4pm. This spread is working great for me, but I am still monitoring my levels and wanted advice on when to do my blood test. I would be grateful 🙏
