Really furious with GP.........this is a long rant, sorry!
I have been working with a new GP since end of June last year following the retirement of my previous quite obliging if not pro active GP. When I first spoke to the new GP I had NHS results showing TSH 0.014 miu/L [0.35 - 4.94]. with fT4 @ 17.3 pmol/L [9 - 19]. She phoned to tell me I was developing

Changing NDT.
Hi. I'm after a bit of advice. I'm coming to the end of my last Thiroyd tablets & will be changing to Thyroid S. Can anyone tell me if I can just start taking the same dose of thyroid S as I'm on Thiroyd, or do I have to start low & build up?

I would be grateful to hear of any experiences some may have had with any of the above and whether they will work with someone who is on NDT. Many thanks. Once again, they will have to be Private Messages.

I've only taken T3 for the past three days
I've tried about every T4/T3, Ndt, different brand Levos for a year and felt terrible on all of them. Three days ago I stopped my Levo, after trying to increase it and experiencing worsening symptoms. The first day I took 10mcg before bed and another 10mcg upon waking at 4am. Then 10mcg around 10am

Puzzling Results
I am puzzled about my latest results and need some help. I am 77 and was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 19 years ago when my TSH was 75. I was prescribed Thyroxine but I can't remember how much or how long I took it. I felt that it wasn't helping me , so I did my own research. I found out about NDT and

Transitioning from Levothyroxine to NDT
I am73 years old and suffer from Hashimoto's. Am currently on 100mg Levothyroxine but am just ticking over with little energy and worrying breathlessness. I want to try NDT but cannot seem to buy it without a prescription. Doctor won't prescribe it and private doctor is likely to stretch my state pension

Hello - I’m currently on 100mmg Thyroxine however I don’t feel great and I’ve now put on nearly 3 stone in two years since my thyroid has shown under activity. I’ve only been taking thyroxine for five months approx - I’d like to try the natural desiccated thyroid to see if that’s better for me? Has anyone

interesting reaction from consultant to t4, t3, ndt
hi all, I've just been told my bloods were: t4 mid range; tsh 0; t3 9.3 (top of the range is 6). However, my consultant tells me that's fine. I take 4grains ndt, and 25micrograms liothyronine. ie. 152 t4; 51 t3. He says that as I've just transferred from levothyroxine and liothyronine to ndt, he

T3 brands and equivalent to T4 amount
Hi everyone I just wanted to ask a quick question with regards to what 5mcg’s of T3 is equivalent to in T4 terms and what brands of T3 medication are available usually, within the UK. I ask this as my endo recently changed me to 1 1/4 grains of Np thyroid from armour thyroid (1 1/4) that I was taking

Feeling worse on NDT- should I change my dose?
I’ve just started taking NDT - today is day 5. I was on 100mg T4 and 12.5mg T3 before starting on 2 grains of NP Thyroid (one when I wake up, one early avo). I’m feeling awful- extremely tired, weak and my brain fog is much worse than usual. I know starting dose for NDT would be 1 grain but my doctor

Deep joy an honest GP who stated “out of my depth! “
Following many months of poor test results and feeling grim I had an enlightening conversation with my new GP this morning. Following a spell where I was on Tyro gold rather than Thyroid S things have been going downhill. By last MMH bloods in February gave:- TSH 1.38 ( 0.27 - 4.2 ) Free T4. 4.8

Hello, I’m new here, and I’ve finally got my first prescription for NDT
Hello everyone, I’m new here and thought I’d introduce myself. I was first diagnosed with hypothyroidism 6 years ago and took T4 medication. It made me feel better at first but then after a few months started to feel low again so saw a different doctor who said I was misdiagnosed (my first experience

Hi, I'm currently back on Levo (75mcg) as I ran out of That NDT last year and apparently it's now unavailable. I don't have my most recent blood results, and we recently moved from the Hebrides to West Yorkshire so I've changed GPs. Obviously, it's difficult to see anyone at the moment anyway. I suspect
