Emergency Prescription
Emergency Prescription On Wednesday I had a GP booked appointment at my surgery cancelled by them due to illness. I tried to book on an emergency basis but was told the GP had marked my blood test on 15/11 as no action and routine only . I went in to re-book and was told they have no bookable appointments

Dosage Change needed? Can you help
Hi All. It’s been some time and was doing well. Dosage had been more or less consistent and feeling well until now. I am taking in split doses 2 grains of NDT and 25mcg of T3. Started to put on weight and feeling a bit moody. Took bloods and results are as follows:- TSH- 0.005 (0.27-4.2) ; T3 - 4.39

Armour without prescription? Fluid retention?
Hi can anyone send me a message and let me know where I can by Armour? I have a private doc and he wants me to try T3 or NDT. I have a big problem with fillers so he has been suggesting Teva T3. The chemist wants to charge £3 for one tablet so I said no thanks, especially for Teva. I'm waiting for him

T4 and Cancer
Recent research reveals T4 has a specific effect in promoting cancer growth, the more T4 the more cancer. T3 has a much smaller effect on an equivalent dose basis (L-T3 is 3x as potent as L-T4). An exception is breast cancer which seems to respond to the oestrogenic effects of thyroid hormone (T3 binding

NDT advice
Hi, I’ve been taking two grains a day of NDT for about two months but over the past month I haven’t been feeling very well and I’m concerned that it’s due to my thyroid/medication. The symptoms I have experienced are: -Feeling in a constant state of fight-flight and like I can’t cope with any stress

A doctor who prescibes NDT?
Hello everyone, long time no see. Thank you as usual for all of the lovely comments and PMs from my last post a few months ago. It really means a lot. I'm sad to report that things have still not been easy for me thyroid-wise. The NHS only makes it more difficult for me to cope, especially with the added

Iron decreased after supplementation?!
After finding my ferritin levels were low as part of a full iron panel from Thriva in October (and on advice from my GP once she found out I am vegetarian), I started supplementing with liquid iron (15mg per day). After re-testing my iron panel 5 weeks later several of the results have got quite a bit

Buying NDT
I last bought Nature Throid about two years ago and am now running out. I used to take Thai Thiroyd but have looked at the site I used and they only seem to do Thiroyd S and Levo. Could you pm me with details of what the situation is now re: NDT from abroad? Many thanks.

Visit with endocrinologist this week... first after starting NDT
My endocrinologist has been in the process of changing to a new practice, so I haven't been in touch with him for a couple of months. I had full labs drawn a couple of weeks ago, and I'll be seeing him this week for the first time at his new practice. Before he moved, I was on 50 mcg of levothyroxine

Starting on NDT, splitting doses?
My endo doc had been treating my hypothyroidism with levothyroxine (T4) only, since I had tried liothyronine (to get some T3) before but even at tiny doses (like 1/4 of a 5mcg tablet) I've had bad reactions (wicked fast heart rate, etc) to it and had to stop. I finally suggested that maybe we try NDT

Post thyroidectomy problems with gout medication (allopurinol)
Has anyone else had problems taking allopurinol along side their post thyroidectomy thyroid hormone replacement therapy (either T4 or combination therapy)? I have a background of Thyroidectomy (PCT) and Follicular Lymphoma. As a result of the FL I have high uric acid levels leading to gout and joint

Genetic testing confirms CC DIO2 from both parents
Hi All Genetic testing has revealed that I have a CC allelle on the DIO2 gene from both parents, as well as a down-regulated DIO1, SNPs on my CTLA4 autoimmunity gene from both parents, and an up-regulated FOXE1 antibody gene (I have Hashimotos). I am on the waiting list to see a new Endo (one from

Advice needed with NDT dosage.
Thank you for all your help, you lovely people! My brain fog is starting to lift now after the near 2 weeks of increased dose, I can even do sums like 0.01 x 0.14 without asking teacher! However I need to get things done asap so need more than 14% brain function. I definitely need to increase FT4

Mathematicians needed to interpret TSH rise!
Thank you all for all your help over past 4 years. I really appreciate it. Learned loads. However I am now unable to workout the most simple arithmatic! My last (& final ) private finger prick test after trialling proper NDT for the 1st time revealed a TSH of 0.14 (range 0.27 - 4.2) previous results

Glimpses of understanding
This recent paper does begin to tackle the problems of therapy with T4 only. It is a start in that it does recognise patients who need combination therapy and that past trials were inadequate to study this. Plus the prospect of a more controlled T3
dosing regimen. It's behind a paywall. However I

Need some help with recent results
Hi all, I’m at a crossroad and don’t know where to turn. Just a refresher: over 65, thyroid cancer in 2017, followed by T.T six months later. Started out on levo, poor converter, so cytomel 5mcg was added to 100 levo, taken all at once upon waking. Did not tolerate cytomel ( blood pressure shot

I failed to obtain results received by MMH on 18-11-21 as blood was haemolised. There was no results on the log, & I thought the sample hadn't reached the UK lab. I was so brain fogged that I had to be prompted by a member to get in touch with the lab! It seems that the lab had sent a replacement kit

Best NDT?
Good morning. I have an appointment today with my doctor and I think he might recommend ndt. If he does, what brand is the best? I am aware of the fact there have been recalls of specific ones, so I’m just wondering what the best one is in your opinion. Thank you
