Underlying issue is Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, diagnosed in 2020 while going through cancer treatment, also few episode's of AF Anyone had experience using Verapamil....TIA

He has AF and inherited hypertrophic cardiomyopathy from his mother. 3 years ago his ICD fired twice at home then 13 times in A &E while they tried to stop it.

hi peeps, I’m totally new to this site as I have been recently diagnosed with HC, I have been put on Ramipril once a day and seeing the cardiologist this week coming, I also have to have a 48 hour monitor fitted this week too, the palpitations are awful and come on so suddenly and make me feel so poorly

I also have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and that makes my heart walls thicker, which is the reason for the difficulty. They ultimately succeeded in all areas except the lower right saying that possibly “significant edema” was the cause of not getting through.

It turned out that despite so many having this horror for no particular reason, mine was due to an inherited condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Time passes…. First ablation for fast AFib. A success.

hi I’ve always pondered why an echo in 2022 showed a EF of 55 to 60% (normal I think) and a cardiac / stress MRI showed EF of 74% in 2023 (also normal but have seen references that > than 74% means possible Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy but this was not a nhs /bhf reference).

I have 3 AF episodes over last 3 years, Diagnosed with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy in Aug 2021, during Chemo/Radiotherapy treatment for cancer.

He has Aortic root dilation & hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The children's normally transfer the young person to Barts (London). I have been looking at St Thomas who has merged with Royal Brompton.

I'm in between diagnosis of TSS and Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. At first a few times when I woke suddenly not being able to breath or swallow I jumped up and got my breath back it was quite frightened.

I have Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy what a mouthful that was and i have a job remembering how to pronounce it. Well the consultant was lovely and he was cross that it hadn't been picked up when i had sepsis as it was there when i was in hospital then.

Hi..Diagnosed initially with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy back in 2020...then had episode of Afib in July 22, then another episode on 4/11/23, resulting in another Cardioverse...Already on Bisoprolol 2 x 2.5mg day...Not sure how it happened again? any ideas what common reasons.

The A&E doctor said it could be hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and has booked him an appt in 2 weeks time to have a 72 hour ECG fitted and in 4 weeks for a heart echo.

The thing is my underlying condition is hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and I have been told that ablations are less successful with that condition. it seems to me that being in afib is a stress on one’s heart and thus not a good thing even if the symptoms aren’t too bad.

Journey started approx April 2020, when diagnosed with throat cancer, through treatment, discovered i also had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy which was prescribed daily Bisoprolol. Cancer free, but had 1st AF in July 2022, when walking up a hill after watching a football match.

I was diagnosed with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy in 2014 following admission to hospital with atrial fibrillation.

Hi everyone, so my partner was diagnosed with HC when he was 14. Been in great shape and only having medication for his condition up until 2016/2017, then 41, he was advised to have an ICD. Since then he's had 3 occasions where the device has delivered shock therapy and unfortunately the last 2 occasions

I have afib and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy along with a history of 3 ablations and 7 cardioversions. I recently started taking Dofetilitde after the required 3 day hospital stay. IT is now 10 day later and I still have passing epidodes of afib.

I have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy nonobstructive and I also have atrial flutter that is currently being treated by medication. I noticed lately that when I put my head underwater and I swim the flutter comes back is there anyone out there that gets arrhythmia when they are swimming underwater.

My father some years ago got diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy hypertrophic. recently he has been experiencing shortness of breath even when doing nothing, he had a dry hacking cough, he also recently had swelling of the legs and hands.

AFib due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. I was so happy after my successful ablation at St Barts on the 24th October. I posted on here, I rested, I was full of hope. My groin was healing well and I just had very short runs of ectopic beats that I was expecting.
