I am feeling a bit better, not so spaced out, no depression or dizziness. I stopped HRT in July. However, I do still get tired, have weight problems, have a swollen scalloped tongue, high cholesterol, goitre, tinnitus, joint stiffness. I am on 100mg Levothyroxine. I take B complex, B1, selenium

Dr. Sanjay Gupta. Cardiologist York. UK. Has anyone had dealings with him?
I realise I will need to be Privately messaged by anyone with information. I have just come across Dr. Gupta and his work about how thyroid issues affect the heart. It’s not the usual stuff about CHD. His information is thyroid specific. A breath of fresh air it would seem. He seems to work both

I have a diagnosis and it's not hashimotos, it's acromegaly
This is not likely to help many people but it might help the odd one with puzzling symptoms. I had an enlarged right thyroid gland and low potassium two years ago. This gradually developed into all sorts of other symptoms, tingling in hands and feet, incidental arthritis found, muscle aches in back,

Both GHSR and IGFBP7 from the growth hormone/insulin-like growth factor axis group may suppress whales’ cancer risk.
This is pretty far off topic for PCa but studying these genes may lead to some clues on controling cancer in humans. https://www.iflscience.com/how-the-largest-whales-got-so-big-may-be-explained-by-four-genes-67162?utm_source=join1440&utm_medium=email&utm_placement=newsletter

Mornin’ guys and gals, This time I’m writing seeking some guidance. Its about Thyroid. I recall many posts on here over a long time about Thyroid and AF but just glossed over them as it didn’t concern me. On 6th July I had to phone in sick as I didn’t feel able to drive my bus. When I got up that

Does The Thyroid Affect Potassium Levels?
Hi! A bit of a random question but I’ve recently had some bloods taken by my GP surgery and my potassium levels have come back a little low (3.2 range 3.5-5.3) My TSH is 3.06 (range 0.27-4.20), which I think is a little too high although in range, so it got me thinking if there is a link at all between

Genome-wide association study of thyroid-stimulating hormone highlights new genes, pathways and associations with thyroid disease
Over the years, we have seen a lot of discussion here about genes – things like whether individuals have particular DIO2 variants, haemochromatosis genes, etc. Where members can get tests run, how much they cost, and what to do with them! A critical issue is that genetic analysis is so new, so current

Treatment of eating disorders by thyroid hormone
This downloadable paper discusses case studies describing treatment for eating disorders by thyroid hormone. It's interesting in that case studies are described in detail and might find resonance for some posters on this forum.

Thyroid antibody result
Hi there, I was just wondering if a thyroid antibody level of 822 is quite high? My T4 is 9.6 and TSH is 12.04 Have been on Levothroxine 50mg for nearly 6 weeks so awaiting another blood test to see if it’s helped bring the levels down. I haven’t had a chance to discuss the antibody result with

we can finally see the wood through the tree's... My ongoing Thyroid Problem.
I had my appointment with this new endo on the 4th July. She was a happy cheapie type of person and explained my problem to the liking of a damaged car. Which I found interesting. My Thyroid is like a broken car that despite all measures wants to go 70 miles an hour all the time. So what we've done

Fibromyalgia or Hypothyroidism?
A friend has recently been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. I have read a lot about that condition being diagnosed when the patient actually has hypothyroidism. Is there a way to rule out Hashi's? I know that an antibody test won't be conclusive unless they are high, because I (and many others) have

Oestradial HRT & the thyroid, Lenzetto blood tests
I just wondered if low oestradial affects the thyroid? I have been on HRT since March and my level is still only 197 pmol/L. I use 3 sprays of Lenzetto. I wondered if it could be affecting my thyroid function? I don’t have menopause symptoms, I had bottom of range testosterone, but this is now in range

TSH RECEPTOR ANTIBODIES RESULTS
Hi, got this test done a week ago and the results are 1.26 IU/L (<1.75) so antibodies are not raised. I was querying Hashimotos or Graves so I assume this rules out Graves but does not confirm Hashimotos? Thanks
