Chest Pain Clinic
Went for my appointment today at the chest pain clinic after my suspected Unstable Angina attack on Easter Sunday. They did an ECG, took my weight and height and then I spoke to the Cardiologist. After going through my medical history and asked about what I do for a living he's told me that as my ECG

Training on using defibrillators and CPR
I sometimes marshal on parkruns and competitions. Thankfully automatic defibrulatrors are becoming more common. Last time a competitor collapsed with angina like symptoms in front of me I had no idea of the protocol to follow (my dilemma was made worse by having a GTN spray with me). Has anyone had

Sulforaphane, Acrolein, and Parkinson's
I spend a fair amount of time re-researching things I have researched previously. With my bad memory, frequently I think I am finding something new when I am not. I just came across (again) an article on Acrolein and Parkinson's and remembered that a Broccoli Sprout beverage can clear Acrolein and

GTN spray
Hi all, I have recently been told I have Angina and am waiting for an angiogram. I have been prescribed Atorvastatin 40 mg, aspirin 75mg and been given a nitrolingual spray to use when needed. My question is how do I know when to use the spray ? I seem to be getting paranoid. I very often have a 'feeling

Unstable Angina - Male 53 years old
On Easter Sunday I attended church with my wife and about midway through mass I started to get a tight sensation in the middle of my chest. At first I thought it was just a bit of nasty heartburn and waited for it to pass, but the pain got worse and started to feel like something was being forced into

Second anniversary of HA and hopefully weāll on the mend
Good reason to celebrate today as itās two years to the day that my life was saved by those wonderful NHS folks. Suffered a Stemi / widow maker, but 4 stents got me up and running again. Luckily I live only 8 minutes away from the Leicester Glenfield Heart Unit and an ambulance was in the area. From

I was diagnosed in 2016 and had 2 stents. Was originally told it would be 3 but one was was too small to stent. Have had attacks since then which have been managed by the usual meds and GTN spray. However, since having covid a month ago I have had more incidents than in the last year. Has anyone else

Newly diagnosed MVA
I am newly diagnosed with Microvascular Angina after months of chest pains, fatigue and feeling generally poorly. An angiogram showed my main arteries are all ok. Therefore it turned out that it is this disease. It is a relief that I can put a name to my condition but equally not great because itās not

Recurrence of coronary artery spasm
Yet another trip to A&E. Fortunately spasm didn't result in increase in troponin levels so after monitoring me for entire day recommendation was to add isosorbide mononitrate to daily cocktail of drugs. I have three questions please: 1. Has anyone struggling with this condition found an ideal cocktail
