skip beats
I take 100mg of
Flecainide
twice daily which is controlling my A-Fib so far but every couple of weeks I get a couple of hours of skipped beats. Just wondering if anyone else has skipped beats.

Flecainide and cataract surgery
Has anyone taking regular doses of
Flecainide
had cataract surgery? My surgeon talked about 'hollows' caused by
Flecainide
- this made the procedure a little more awkward. He wasn't concerned but I cannot find any references to this anywhere. Anyone help please?

Stopping Flecainide
I’ve decided to stop
Flecainide
since I haven’t had an AFib episode in 5 months. I’m staying on Xarelto, of course, so what’s the harm? I don’t like the long term effects of being on
Flecainide
. Has anyone else stopped their anti arrhythmic to test whether they no longer suffer from AFib?

Bumps in the Road? More like a crevasse!
After a few hours, and an extra
Flecainide
, this changed into tachycardia at around 140 bpm. I then continued in either AF or tachycardia for most of the next three days.

Can I not choose rate control?
I had a holter monitor and now the arrhythmia nurse wants to swap me from
flecainide
to Amiodorone and says there is no other option. I’m on the waiting list for an ablation, which could take 12 months.

2nd Ablation
My doctor does not think a 2nd ablation would help and believes my A-Fib can be treated with
Flecainide
which so far has controlled my A-Fib. Just looking for thoughts from anyone who may be in the same position. I have been on Flec for a month with no episodes of A-Fib.

Flecainide

A&E Experience
So on Friday night, I went to be with AF, I took a
Flecainide
and tried to sleep. I work up in the night very hot and sweaty. After finally getting some sleep I work up still experiencing AF.

Being Switched From Flecainide to Solotol...Any Feedback?
I have been on
Flecainide
for about two years and it controlled my PAF breakthroughs pretty well, reducing episodes to about every couple of months, lasting anywhere from 1 to 5 hours. They lasted one to two days before
Flecainide
.

Tiredness
I didn’t get on with
Flecainide
, Digoxin or Bisoprolol but a consultant suggested I could change to Sotalol - but I’m loath to do that as Antenalol works. Does anyone know if Sotalol makes you tired - or is it a case of just getting on with it?

New start on Dronedarone
•Hi folks, its been a while since I was last here, but following a review by my EP , Dr Elder in Dundee, a decision has been made to change my medication to Dronedarone from
flecainide
. I had been on
Flecainide
for four years after developing Paroxsysmal AF at 65.

Full diagnosis and plan in place : comments please
burden of Paroxysmal AF with Atrial Flutter , symptoms timed out with my arrhythmia D) I am a prime candidate for a pulmonary vein isolation and CTI ablation for Paroxysmal AF and flutter respectively E) CHADVS Score = 0/9 , no A/C required until Ablation process etc F) Drugs prescribed = 100mg

Ablation 3 months update, exercise, food and ectopics
I am still on blood thinners, Diltiazem and
Flecainide
. I am optimistic to phase these out, at least partly... I know ablation sounds like a scary procedure. It is more disruptive than at least my EP has told me... but I it seems a safe procedure yielding results...

Sinus tachycardia
Meanwhile for the last 9 days I have been experimenting (as instructed by Papworth) in only taking one
flecainide
tablet per day (evenings). So the periods of fast heart rate are getting more and more frequent and the current one is the longest one yet, 35 minutes and still going).
