RF ablation today. Update!
He doesn't like
Flecainide
and feels it can provoke Afib. I begged to stay on a small dose of Bisoprolol as going to 3.75 yesterday to nothing today makes me nervous so I'll take 1.25 tonight.

One for the ladies - can you have Botox? ( SVT - not sure if i am AF awaiting investigations)
Fast forward now on
Flecainide
and Bisoprolol… will it interact with my meds and could spike my HR … i am not going to get it done if I end up in SVT or with some type of weird flutter …

How Flecainide works query?
I’m new to
Flecainide
100 twice a day. Was on Bisoprolol 5mg now on 10mg. I have persistent AF - is
Flecainide
to keep the heart beat at what the bisoprolol sets it at or is
Flecainide
supposed to the rate?

Is this signs of progress?
I have just started taking daily
flecainide
after AFib became more frequent. I have a perfectly healthy heart and mild hypertension. I am awaiting a prescription for a beta blocker to go along with the
flecainide
.

Atrial fibrillation diagnosis and medication side effects
I’m now taking
Flecainide
& Apixaban to manage the condition Whilst I wait to have an Ablation procedure. I’m feeling really fatigued and head feels ‘foggy’. Is this normal with AF?

Update from me!
Upshot is that he has me booked in for a Radio frequency ablation but this won't happen till at least the end of this year unless there's a cancellation. meanwhile he's advised me stopping the
Flecainide
as we both think this is making matters worse at times.

Atrial flutter
I’m taking 50mg of
flecainide
twice a day and 1.25mg of bisoprolol once a day. Played golf this morning and then prepared to celebrate (no alcohol as I’m teetotal) the jubilee by hosting a bbq for around 10.

I see in these posts that a lot of you advise taking
Flecainide
an hour before meals. Why? The advice by the drug company and my doctor is to take it before, during or after meals. I have been taking it in the middle of my breakfast, should I change?

You lot are making me depressed!
Flecainide
200mg/day helps somewhat. What I find odd is that I feel a bit nauseous and "pumped up" before an episode starts, and after it finished, maybe half an our later. Anyone else? The depressing part is that it looks like I'll just have to put up with it.

AF for 3rd time in 26 months
I was sent away with
flecainide
and Soltalol (beta blockers despite being asthmatic) and told to see my GP within 2 weeks. I feel awful, very nauseous, very tired, dizzy and headache. I just don't know where to turn, I have a GP appointment in 10 days time, the first one I can get.

Update on my big decision not to have fourth ablation
So I am to stop
Flecainide
for 48 hours, ring to see if the blood tests are okay and if so, start the Dronedarone.

Flecainide
I have been taking
Flecainide
for the last two weeks since AF returned. I have now developed a dry tickly cough which is keeping me awake and making me feel even more exhausted. I am asthmatic so prone to coughs but have not had any other symptom such as sore throat.

Exercising at higher altitude with afib
Now taking 50 mg
Flecainide
twice per day and 25 mg metoprolol once per day. No blood thinner. Until diagnosed, I was enjoying being physically active, but the AFib episodes scared me and slowed me way down.

GP or nurse for meds?
I'm guessing the next step will be more beta blockers, or
Flecainide
as my last ecg showed some bradycardia. I'm not sure who to contact re meds as I'm not due to see my cardiologist til September, and i don't think a gp or an arrythmia nurse could prescribe
Flecainide
?

Starting to get me down
I was taking 100mg of
flecainide
in the morning and at night for a week or so and was free of AFib but then had 3 of them while I was taking it.

Change from Bisoprolol to Diltiazam.
(I’m also on
Flecainide
.) I’d like to hear about others’ experience with Diltiazam. Thanks.

Alternatives to Flecainide for keeping Afib at bay
I have been taking
flecainide
for the past 2 weeks or so after using it as a PIP. My EP and I are still trialling the frequency and dosage to get it right.

Afib progressing
I was using 200mg of
Flecainide
as PIP which calms the Afib in about 2 hours or less. I went for a private cardiologist appointment and he recommended I move to 100mg of
flecainide
twice a day with 100mg taken in addition if I have an incident during this time.
