NICE decision on access to Gefitinib(Iressa) and Erlotinib (Tarceva).
We are pleased to see NICE's announcement today on second line treatment for non small cell lung cancer using Gefitinib (Iressa) and
Erlotinib
(Tarceva). Second line treatment is when someone needs further treatment after chemotherapy because their cancer has progressed.

Tarceva/Erlotinib side effect
Good morning all My husband, Brian, is not coping well with the rash, finds it very irritating and is having problems sleeping. He is using the steroid cream but that does not seem to help. I shall be contacting his LCNS tomorrow but wondered whether any one here can help. Thank you.

Tarceva (Erlotinib)
Is anyone out there on Tarceva for lung adenocarcinoma? Would like to share experiences. I've been on for three months.

Science News new finding!!
May 10, 2013 — Researchers at Georgetown University Medical Center have used tiny doses of a leukemia drug to halt accumulation of toxic proteins linked to Parkinson's disease in the brains of mice. This finding provides the basis to plan a clinical trial in humans to study the effects. Share

Erlotinib
He was offered either palliative care or
erlotinib
. We did not see his normal consultant and had very little time to make the choice. We were also a bit upset as you can imagine.

I have no idea where the node is or how many have been effected but he is going to have more chemo and
erlotinib
so hopefully that will have some positive effects. We were hoping that he would have some sort of remission, but were told that his type of cancer was the most aggressive form.
