Eltroxin

I initially got well on goldshield generics and remember when my pharmacist got me eltroxin that i didnt think it was quite as strong as the generic but I had remained well, though my tsh went up slightly.

I checked and I am the only patient on liquid Eltroxin with that pharmacy. I had to wait 4 days until 1st July before they would deliver it. The quota is set by the manufacturer, I was told. I thought supply to the NHS was guarenteed before stocks were sold, inside or outside the sterling area.

Just been to pharmacy to collect my prescription and they advise me that the manufacturers of Eltroxin have stopped production. Is anyone aware of this? This is the only brand I can take and I know GP will be very reluctant to prescribe the liquid form which is available. Many thanks.

After having allergic reactions to levothyroxin for the last 18 months I have been taking Eltroxin. This has now stopped being manufactured and my GP referred me to an endocrinologist to discuss symptoms etc.

so 5 weeks ago i my bloods on diagnosis were: TSH: 118 FT4: 4.9 4 weeks on eltroxin 50mcg and my bloods are: TSH 3.23 FT4: 14.9 is this possibly a miraculously quick recovery?? or could it be anything to worry about??

I found a 25mcg Eltroxin tablet yesterday and took it. Interestingly alot of the aches and pains disappeared. I now only have 100mcg tablets left. When I asked dr P what I should do, he said to just split them.

like to receive some much needed advice on this journey lol Also wondered if there are any downsides to Eltroxin that I should be aware of?

hi all, back again with more questions ;) is it normal to feel quite good after a few weeks on eltroxin? im only on 50 and thought i would probably need upping a good bit as my tsh was so high to start (118), is this still likely? im back at docs next week for more bloods..

I eventually managed to get prescribed Eltroxin after getting an assortment of brands every time I collected them from pharmacist. I've been told Eltroxin is being discontinued. Any idea what other named brand I should ask for? I used to take synthroid while living in USA but not available in UK.

I have been on 150mg of Eltroxin and have had it increased to 175mg. I went to Boots and spoke to the pharmacist first about is the Eltroxin in 25mg strength (I seem to recall reading that it's not (on the forum) he said they don't stock eltroxin anyway just the generic.

Was diagnosed 2 weeks ago UAT and have been on 50mcg Eltroxin since, not feeling any better yet ;) Just asked my doctor for my actual levels taken 3 weeks ago, and they are: TSH: 118 T4: 4.9 the TSH seems pretty high to me! can anyone offer any advice or wisdom?

i was recrommended a supplement in my local health food shop called TH207 by BioCare to take alongside my eltroxin, does anyone know if this is ok? it contains vit A, C, Bs, calcium, mag, selenium, dulse, ginseng, licorice, L-Glysine, L-Tyrosine, L-Glutamine, Lipase, cellulase and amylase thanks :)

I have not tried Eltroxin (varients of name) as that wasn't arranged and I went to docs pharmacy, as not able to walk around town! But then that doesn't suit a lot of people...so it would be messing between brands a bit too often...already.

Is it also common to lose bloating weight in the first couple of weeks taking eltroxin? ive dropped 5lbs and hoping the dose isnt too high as i still feel pretty rubbish most days.

Have struggled to get my medication right and suspect it may still not be quite right - on 116 mcg of Eltroxin. Latest test results: TSH 0.09 (0.2 - 4.2) FT4: 26.7 (12 -22) FT3 4.5 (3.95 - 6.8). Generally my FT3 results have been at the low end.

He was prescribed Eltroxin and I obtained a prescription. The NZ Eltroxin tablets came in a bottle, not bubble wrapped and are fatter than my UK tablets. They suited me much better, just as they had years ago.

I know Mercury Pharma say that their levo is the same as Eltroxin, i dont believe it is have been on this before for 10 damn years and have been ill on and off for most of that time. Am considering seeing Dr P hopefully he is still practicing. Thanks so much Dotti

Like many others, I've had to change from eltroxin to Merc pharma Levo and i was lucky to get that !.
