I have been signed off from my care at hospital after 10 years of A fib and a stroke
I had a letter from my hospital that was dealing with my last ablation in 2019 , ECG ‘s etc . That they would no longer be looking after me - 2 weeks ago. I went back into A fib summer of 2020 during covid , I had to self assess my medication and my heart rate via my watch . I could see no one because

Technology question
We went away for the weekend . I was aware of tachycardia in the night ( only lasted few minutes) I always try to capture any palpitations if I can. This was the wee small hours so all electrical equipment was switched off . A tv , two phones and chargers, several lamps. I was about 22 feet away from

Worried
Been having chest pain, shoulders pain and left arm pain. Also I have 5 blackout episodes yesterday . 3 of them I fell and bang my head. Went to A&E. They did ecg . Told I will have to wait 8 hours to be see by doctor. They didn't even do bloods. So left and went home . Didn't offer me any painkillers

Diagnosis at last! Haemochromotosis?
I've posted a few times on this forum but a bit of backstory - hubby, 43 had sudden onset of upper right quadrant pain last December, has some tests for gallstones, found nothing, immediately stopped drinking (had drunk heavily for around 15 years), and after a lot of back and forward was found to have

Ha! Having said I had not had a recurrance of my fast AF since the first time in 207, I was visiting Norfolk to do some minor jobs between tenants on my daughter's house, when I started having a rapid fluctuating heartbeat whilst resting before going out to dinner! Got to the restaurant and other half

Ejection Fraction
Recently had an echocardiogram, the results of which showed an EF of 35%. My ECG was normal, my BP which I check several times a day is consistently within normal parameters and as a result of the echo the cardiac consultant now wants an MRI but wants my Primary Care Physician to start me on Beta blockers

Sod's Law. Due for colonoscopy this morning, so spent the last 3 days on a white diet, no alcohol, yesterday went through the Moviprep routine to empty bowels, spent all evening on and off toilet, most unpleasant. Got up at 2am this morning for toilet, and guess what, of course, AF suddenly kicked in

LINQ ECG implant - what follow up have people had.
Hi everyone with or similar LINQ ECG implant fitted. My LINQ device was fitted in February of this year. In May I received a telephone call from the cardiology team, who I have not met, that an Afib event was detected and a medication change to EDOXABAN was prescribed. I have not had any further

Things Change Quickly.
I started with mild breathlessness 4 months ago, that got worse and led to an ECG revealing an LBBB. My breathlesness gradually got worse and that led to an 8 hour spell in A&E then 2 weeks later, a day in the observation ward. An ultrasound scan on the 12th of September revealed the bad news that i

Atrial fibrillation in early 50s for no obvious reason
Hi, I'm 51 years old, fit, healthy, no high BP, don't smoke, eat mostly a plant based diet and had my first afib episode a month ago. A&E couldn't find a cause and put it down to dehydration and over doing it. They sent me away with no medication. A fews weeks later I started getting migraines with aura

palpitations and high pulse
hi, I’m new here. I’ve just spend 4 days in hospital due to a high pulse rate, palpitations and dizziness. Ecg, X-ray and all bloods came back clear but the problem persists. I’ve been put on beta blockers which have brought my pulse rate down but not stopped palpitations. I have to go back for an echo

what next heart rate high again and I am now symptomatic
I had heart bypass 2013 and pacemaker 2015 due to af and low hr. Then 3 years ago I started taking digoxin to lower high heart rates and it seemed to work. I have just been to Spain on holiday and ended up hospitalised 2 days due to chest pain and breathless all tests revealed no heart attack, echocardiogram

Overdosing bisoprolol- can anyone offer advice?
I don’t know whether it is where I live ( the NW) but I really struggle to get appropriate treatment. Anyway I picked up my meds on Saturday. Opened them in the car and noticed my bisoprolol was suddenly in 5 mg tablets not 2.5 mg. I went back into the pharmacy to be told that I have been on 5 mg tablets

Atrial Fibrillation. Help.
Hi all. Feeling a bit abandoned at the moment. So many questions and not sure where to turn. A key one I’d like to know is should a patient in the UK with newly diagnosed AF with no known cause be referred to a cardiologist? I am finding I have no one person dealing with this and looking at the overall
