Dealing with RLS in a hospital setting
He can't take
dopamine
agonists. He's been on clonazepam in the past but it caused bad confusion and hallucinations. I was thinking of a low dose anti-depressant that might have a mild sedative effect, but I know so many can trigger RLS. Are there any that don't?

Sinemet shortage
Has anyone else experienced this, and is it possibly because there are more people being diagnosed with PD, which I hope not, or are they really low on the
dopamine
that goes into the pills?

Stiffness
And while I'm at it, many of the non motor problems are not given the attention they desperately need, Do you Guys have any idea what it like to have no interest in any thing at all, that's what happens when
dopamine
is not getting through.

Dopamine agonists
Hi all, does anyone have any success stories on using DA's? I'm sure my Neuro is going to try and steer me this way soon but I'm wary having heard of so many bad experiences. Thanks.

Anxiety in PD
I understand that some anti anxiety medication interferes with

. How is anxiety treated in patients with Parkinson's? What is an effective medication?

GET YOUR KNITTING NEEDLES OUT TO HELP ALLEVIATE PAIN...
Experts feel that there’s a neurochemical effect on the brain which undoubtedly changes brain chemistry for the better, possibly by decreasing stress hormones and increasing feel-good serotonin and
dopamine
, while knitting.

Controlling augmentation and impulse control issues
a workable regime after augmentation and the calibre of drugs required to afford relief to those with pronounced symptoms, it would seem to be worth trying this in appropriate cases (ie where a substantial dose of naltrexone is not counter-indicated) for people who are experiencing augmentation on

So yesterday I went to see my neurologist and ......
(I reasonably believe that my exercise routine including running produces my own
Dopamine
). When I asked for a test to confirm how much
Dopamine
was currently in my body I was told " no blood test can determine how much
Dopamine
you have at any given time". This begs the question.

Help with research... identifying the cause of orthostatic hypotension & autonomic dysfunction
But wouldn't that result in negative effects, kinda similar to the idea of 'artificially' boosting
dopamine
by taking l-dopa? That is to say, taking l-dopa to boost
dopamine
eventually results in very negative side effects and cellular changes.

Insomnia is the game.
To increase my own
Dopamine
I run. 5 ,km Park runs every Saturday. Plus other extreme exercise all week. I have a personal trainer and physio who repairs the damage to my body as and when needed. I believe I am generating
Dopamine
myself.

9 days & nights with no RLS or withdrawal symptoms--ahh!
After suffering through over a month of DAWS or
Dopamine
Agonist Withdrawal Syndrome when I went cold turkey off Ropinerole, I transitioned into Lyrica. It has been 9, no now 10 wonderful days -- I feel like a normal person again. No RLS symptoms at all!!! I'm taking 100 mgs 3x/day.

Importantly, according to the Braak hypothesis, the irreversible loss of
dopamine
neurons in the substantia nigra and associated progressive motor dysfunction may not be evident until Braak stages 3 and 4.
