Explanation for why PD progression might accelerate during bouts of fever/infection?
A research paper from June 2016 [1] describes how, during bouts of fever or infection, the mitochondria within the
dopamine
neurons of a PWP could (attempt to) signal the immune system to kill the neuron.

The exercise conundrum
The latter group argue that the exercise has used their
dopamine
up and that it might be an idea to up meds in order to allow exercise to continue. Others claim they were able to reduce their meds as a result of exercise. All very complicated and a little contradictory! Best to the community.

Hug
Today I decided we needed a hug, a long close hug , the human contact allows the body to relax then releases
dopamine
and serotonin. So all of you try a hug today anyone you feel comfortable hugging, cling on and feel better... Honestly it works

Dopamine Dope
Had a thought, what if the bits in our brain that are dying are not malfunctioning but shutting down because of they incorrectly sense that we have too much
dopamine
in our system.

5 Years ago quit smoking :)
I also found another alternative to get my "
dopamine
fix" - for me it was exercise. All the best to the new quitters out there.

Agonist versus Levadopa
From what I've been reading, it seems that taking a
dopamine
agonist versus levadopa is a "one or the other" choice. My neurologist has me taking 8 mg ropinirole hcl er once a day (at nighttime) and 25/100 caridopa/levadopa three times a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

amantadine, norepinephrine, locus coeruleus, methylphenidate (Ritalin), ceruleus
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/pmid/20691429/ Cites 1 and 2 are very important and are often ignored in studies about PD and
dopamine
. When I first took c/l, I noticed a big improvement.

Atremorine
The exceptional results shows that AtreMorine protects selectively dopaminergic neurons and significantly increases naturally the
dopamine
level in the organism and without any reverse effects. Dr.

I am 20….(I wish !!!)
Still supplementing the old brain to keep the
dopamine
flowing but almost half the dose with what I started off and with all the stress of the drought and worker retrenchments I can truly say that to live smoke free is the way to live!

PD : Braak H, Del Tredici K. 2017 locus coeruleus, periphery
After years of research, it now appears that the earliest lesions could develop at nonnigral (
dopamine
agonist nonresponsive) sites, where the surrounding environment is potentially hostile: the olfactory bulb and, possibly, the ENS.

HELP! IS THERE SUCH A THING ANYMORE? DR'S PUT YOU ON MEDS, THEN YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN!
GETTING OFF OF REQUIP WHICH IS A "
DOPAMINE
AGONIST" IS EQUAL TO WITHDRAWAL FROM COCAINE AND AMPHETAMINES. SO DO YOU THINK I CAN SEE ANY SLIGHTLY FLICKER OF LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL? IF NOTHING ELSE, I HOPE WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN HELPS PEOPLE IN A FEW WAYS. 1.

Thank you to everyone responding to my post :)
If we take levadopa to replace
dopamine
does that affect the other amino acids that work in our brain. Will this make the other aminos out of balance. Any thoughts.

Parkinson's pill with the fastest onset of relief?
It seems like the ODT (Orally Dissolving Tablet) form of carbidopa should work fast, but the levodopa requires conversion to
dopamine
in the brain, which takes time.
Dopamine
agonists can work immediately when they reach the brain, without any conversion required.
