UK Cabazitaxel/Carboplatin availability
Now, with the decision to switch from
Docetaxel
to Cabazataxel, my local hospital has told me that the only way to combine it with Carboplatin, is to pay £1,500 per cycle. This would mean a total cost of £15,000.

ADT + darolutamide + docetaxel (ARASENS trial) has anyone tried it?
Docetaxel
145mg for each cycle seems a big amount to me even if the MO keeps saying "you are big, young, in shape and you have no other condition" but still...

taxotere and PSA
Three rounds of
docetaxel
until 7/17/23. PSA rose from 4.9 to 5.1. PSMA scan showed decline in bone Mets. Tried a bit of fasting. Just switched to cabitaxel due to seeming failure of
docetaxel
based on PSA rise. Wondering if PSA increase was the result of fasting due to a small weight loss.

Ureteral cytosis
Started Jevtana in August hoping for more moderate side effects and efficacy than I'd had with three prior rounds of
Docetaxel
. First Jevtana round was without carboplatin. Second Jevtana round had carboplatin included.

If it doesn't make you feel bad, is it working?
Background: My husband recently received his fourth
docetaxel
treatment. He has mets to bones and lymph nodes and has had two SBRT sessions to bone and prostate which significantly reduced both pain and node size.

Docetaxel SE
Hi Gents I have completed 6 rounds of
Docetaxel
. My results have been great! OSA prior to treatment, 23.6; after 5 rounds, 8.8. I am dealing with the SE. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do for my fingernails? They are breaking very close to the base of the nail.

Does triplet Therapy still work if you've failed Enza?
As most posters know the UK doesn't allow for other 'mides' once you've failed Xtandi (as I have done) But I am considering buying Abi from India to add to my Lupron and
Docetaxel
. Has anyone had success with Abi after Xtandi failure? Is the triplet therapy likely to work for me?

Interrupted Docetaxel treatment
The reason I am writing this is to get an opinion about the
Docetaxel
treatment. As I mentioned my last one was at March 12th. Should I start up with no.5 as soon as possible or have a break and start from scratch again?

New Developments in My Husband's PCA Journey
I am also wondering if radiation is not the most optimal treatment, then why not add a 6 week cycle of
Docetaxel
to the mix of ADT.? This would be considered triplet therapy (Stampede trial).

Invitro study shows Delta Tocotrienol overcomes Docetaxel resistence in PCa
Evaluating the combined effect of δ-TT and
docetaxel
(DTX), we found that δ-TT potentiates DTX cytotoxicity in DU145 cells. Moreover, δ-TT induces cell death in DU145 cells that have developed DTX resistance (DU-DXR) activating necroptosis.

Now my cancer is now under control, my wife no longer wants to be with me.
I went straight on Casodex and 2 years of Eligard shots. 9 rounds of
Docetaxel
, kidney stents and VMAT radiation therapy. Following my last PET scan, no new growth was evident and my PSA has been under 1.0 for the last 18 months.

Could this be the start of neuropathy?
I had my first
Docetaxel
infusion 6 days ago. Due to the Dexamethasone before and the Prednisone since, I have been really well. In the gym most days, and eating really well. I have had no side effects - until today. It's a minor thing, but both thumbs are a little sore.

Can Radium 223 kill PCa in the prostate and can Docetaxel kill bone Mets?
I would appreciate if you could tell me whether Radium 223 can kill PCa in the prostate and whether
Docetaxel
can kill bone Mets? Thanks.

Nicardipine, a calcium channel blocking blood pressure lowering drug has shown anti prostate cancer properties in preclinical studies
As a combination regimen, nicardipine synergistically enhanced the in vivo efficacy of
docetaxel
against C4-2 xenografts.

Still true that using same scan type is preferable to changing scan type?
He's been stable since chemo with his current Eligard & Xgeva treatment--see full Profile for his record of Lupron, radiation, Zytiga (failed),
Docetaxel
at year five, followed by lifelong Eligard and quarterly Xgeva.

Castration resistant in just a year? Normal or not? Provenge in my future.
Nubeqa and
Docetaxel
(Triplet therapy) started 9 months ago, and finished chemo 4.5 months ago. Still on Lupron and Nubeqa. Most of what I've read on doctor google says mCRPC takes 2-3 years to develop. Is that accurate in the group's experience. Am I just "lucky?"
