Additional questions about options after Docetaxel

Hi all- First of all, many thanks for the replies to my posting about my brother’s treatment options after Docetaxel stops working. I received a lot of helpful information. I am trying to research the different treatment options that were mentioned but I must admit it is complicated to say the least.

We are meeting with his oncologist on Friday and I am trying to be as prepared as possible. His oncologist is not a specialist with prostate cancer. Are there specific tests I should request that may be needed to see if he is a good candidate for different treatment options? Also, are there recommendations for oncologists in order to get a second opinion on his treatment options? I will be paying out of pocket since I cannot get it covered by the HMO. I would just like to make sure his oncologist is on the right track since he is not his area of expertise. Many thanks again!

My brother lives in the Northern Va/DC area. If the doctor does tele visits I am fine with that. Thanks- Teresa

Johns Hopkins has some of the best urologic oncologists in the world. Any on this list would be fine:
