I am still on bisoprolol 1.25mg and have
disopyramide
as pill in pocket which I have used once when I felt a bit panicky and didn't really need it but is reassuring to have.

RA flutter ablation
I saw my cardiologist just before Christmas as I had become more breathless after being fine on
disopyramide
for years for mild rhythm problems. He did an ECJ and said the heart rhythm had indeed changed since we last had an ECG and I was now in flutter.

Repeat Prescriptions for Essential Drugs
I am on
Disopyramide
and Apixaban. Both probably for life or at least a long, long time (hopefully!!!), and both without which I'd be in trouble. Without Apixaban clearly at higher risk of stroke and not something I'd like to interrupt and restart.

Most vagal afibbers receive wrong medication
This resulted in an average afib burden (# of episodes times their duration) more than twice as high than the burden among vagal afibbers taking flecainide or
disopyramide
. As far as propafenone (Rythmol) is concerned, the situation may not be as clear-cut as suggested in the Euro Heart Study.

In hospital again
The first time it was evident, it was presumed by doctors that it was due to
disopyramide
and it was stopped. I haven't been on ant arryhtmics for 3 months now though so am confused why this is happening intermittently. And scared as hell.

Long QT
I have tried 3 different antiarrythmics but had to come off them as
disopyramide
gave me prolonged QT and apparently it was very long and potentially very dangerous. (It was caught by a chance ECG). I am now petrified that i am predisposed to long QT.

Permanent AF
It was detected that the anti-arrythmic drug I was on (
Disopyramide
) was at toxic levels in my body, causing a prolonged QTc and the EP said I could have had a cardiac arrest.

Out of the ordinary?
I take
Disopyramide
, verapamil and bisoprolol in combination and it's been doing me ok, one episode a month or so, some short, some long but bearable. That said I have had AFl everyday for the last 3 days, short episodes of approx 2 hours but unnerving none the less.

Disopyramide and headache
Can anyone who is on
disopyramide
tell me if you have experienced headaches as a side effect? I have now been on it for a month and it is working better than anything I have been on before. I am now able to lie flat in bed which is so wonderful.

Happy New Year!
Since switching to
Disopyramide
I have only had one ugly episode of SVT. Weird, because I didn't go into AF. Just an extremely fast and regular rhythm that started out at about 200bpm (Alivecor), which eventually ranged between 160-200bpm.

Vagal non-arrhythmia
Six months' ago I was put on
Disopyramide
which has stopped the symptoms. My pulse has gone from being constantly all over the place to a strong, steady beat, if anything a bit too strong and almost unreal. And I no longer get wobbles after eating, the drugs are so strong or working so well.
