Anyone taking cyclosporine? What side effects have you experienced?
I have been on prednisolone for over 3 months and my platelets are worse now than when I started. As at today they are 10 and my doc. wants me to go on cyclosporine. I am very reluctant.

Seen this on the internet - positive as it Highlights Lupus. Men may find this useful with Lupus SLE
Immunosuppressive drugs may also be used (with or in place of steroid treatments), such as cyclophosphamide (Cytoxan®), azathioprine (Imuran®),
cyclosporin
A, and mycophenolate mofetil (CellCept®).

Azathioprine
Hello everyone, I know we've discussed steroid-sparing agents a bit in the past, but I can't recall if anyone has actually tried azathioprine? RBH have suggested to me that I might like to try it to try to get my steroid dose down, as I'm running into increasing problems with steroid side effects

Cyclosporin
It has been suggested my son starts
Cyclosporin
next week (assuming all pre-tests are ok). Have read all the bumf given by hospital but thought it would be good to see what other people's experience of it is.

A Basic Guide to Immunology
Cyclosporin
appears to be the better option as it is a more selective immunosuppressant because its main site of action is the CD4 T helper cell population.

Immunosuppressants - Ciclosporin and Azathioprine
I was just wondering if anyone has experience of these two immunosuppressants being used in combination? I have been on Ciclosporin since July 09 at varying doses to control my idiopathic urticaria /anaphylaxis which play havoc with my asthma and make me itchy and miserable. It stabilised for 3-4 months

Methotrexate/Cyclosporine
Hi I saw my consultant a few weeks ago in clinic and he thinks that Cyclosporine or Methotrexate (Cyclosporine was the one actually suggested in clinic) might be the next thing to try, at the time I expressed that I did not feel comfortable with the idea of immunosuppresants and he has since wrote to

We had a toss up between
cyclosporin
or going for xolair again and cons decided he wanted to hold off on steroid sparing agents as he has already tried 2 and had side effects with both.

Methotrexate/Cyclosporin
Hey all, My consultants latest idea is either metho or
cyclosporin
. I've heard good and bad reports about both drugs but just wanted to get a few educated opinions.

Cyclosporin
I know
Cyclosporin
is used in difficult asthma cases, and depending on what happens with the difficult asthma clinic im keen to give it a go and see what it does for the urticaria and perhaps as a side effect my asthma may calm down too.

Cyclosporin levels
My son Sean has been taking
cyclosporin
since july this year. For the first six / seven weeks he was on 125mg BD and his blood levels were in the target range of 80-150 every week. Then one week it dropped to 48, following week it was lower at 30.
