Cinacalcet

I use Cinacalcet + Osvaren every day and it worked good untill now. In my last numbers PTH is 919 picogramms/ml that is on 100 higher than 3 months ago. Maybe there is more powerful medications against PTH?

I have Hypercalcemia after taking Lithium for 36 years, I have been off Lithium for seven months now but my Calcium level is being controlled by Cinacalcet x 4 90mg tablets a day while waiting to have my Parathyroid glands removed and am in a constant agitated state.

I do take calcium+vit d3 and cinacalcet for high PTH. What else is required to avoid weak bones and joints? Any advice?

It is very annoying I didn't notice this much hair falling out until I was put on Sensipar/cinacalcet again (took it for years for parathyroid issues while on dialysis, but now post-transplant was prescribed it for high calcium). Anyone else notice lots of hair loss months after a transplant?

He prescribed Cinacalcet to be taking once a day. My question is did anyone of you experienced this? Did it effect your transplanted kidney or bones? Or any other information I’m a bit worried that’s I’m gonna start having new conditions due to my transplant or my dialysis.

How do people get on with cinacalcet. It makes my wife quite sick. She has primary hypothyroidism.

Mum was on Cinacalcet at the time of the monitor and I read that it can cause irregular heartbeats and bradycardia. So she stopped the cinacalcet and took nettle tea which did the same as the cinacalcet in reducing her blood calcium levels and hyperparathyroidism.

Now my brother has taken away her 25mcg levo leaving Mum with only 50mcg and he is now interfering with her treatment and the doctor has put her onto cinacalcet and my brother is taking away all her supplements. She was on no other drugs, just supplements and levo.

She has been on a waiting list to see an endocrinologist for over a year on the NHS, I finally paid for her to see one two months ago and he put her on Cinacalcet but I am worried that this might have caused the bradycardia.

Since normalising my calcium with cinacalcet the low dose of thyroxine has made me hyperthyroid so I have now been told to stop taking thyroxine.

I have been started on cinacalcet to lower my calcium and pth and see if thays helps my symptoms and maybe they will get to the bottom of it. Any advice on hypothyroidism and bone loss ect... would be great. Thanks x

Finally prescribed Cinacalcet in March of this year when levels had reached 600. Levels fells to about 240-260 and have remained around this figure since Sept but latest blood test shows levels have increased back up into the high 400's.
