One Year On
I put on nearly two stone during my eighteen months of inactivity due to the AF,
Cardioversion
and Cardio Ablation. I’ve now lost the two stone purely down to exercise.

Post cardioversion
Today I had my First
cardioversion
, it took 2 attempts to get me back in rhythm. Feel good, 🤞it lasts. I have a MRI in 4 weeks to check up on my HCM, then appointment with the consultant a few days later. Small steps, but in the right direction. I will get running again...

Covid-19 Fatigue?
My social life has been cancelled, I’m in an at risk category (not just AF), I’m been waiting for a
cardioversion
because my heart rate is stuck so no extra ump after 50 steps, my father is 90, stepmother in her 80s, my daughter is a pharmacist so frontline, my cleaner won’t be able to come and all

I was diagnosed with AF two years ago and had a
cardioversion
three months later after an echocardiogram and taking Apixaban and Bisoprolol for those three months. The
cardioversion
was successful and I was then put on Flecainide 50 mgs twice a day.

Operation cancellations - corona effect and Amiodarone
I am due to start a 6 week course of Amiodarone prior to a second
cardioversion
attempt then for 6 weeks afterwards ( yep, I fully appreciate the Amiodarone history, but apparently I need the strongest drug available due to the size of my left atria according to my EP.)

Cardioversion appointment.
Said I was waiting to come in for a
cardioversion
but I didn't have a date, not even for for the pre op assessment. The nice sister took my number in case of a cancellation. I didn't even get back to the car park before she rang me to get me back for a pre op!

They tried
cardioversion
but it only lasted a week. They switched me to flecanaide after the
cardioversion
. I don't remember the med they had me on before they switched me to flecanaide which converted me in 3 days. But boy did the 100mg twice a day kick my butt. Legs had weights it seemed.

New Appointment
I have been sent another appointment for my
Cardioversion
check up, once again in March. Very relieved. Many thanks to all who were so supportive last week when I was feeling very stressed.

Hopping Mad
My six week follow up for a
Cardioversion
last October was originally scheduled for 5th March which by any stretch is well over six weeks. Had a letter this morning saying this has been cancelled and a new appointment made for 16th July, a full nine months from the original procedure.

Three and a half years AF free....and then.....
Drugs didn't bring the rate down so I did get a
cardioversion
24 hrs later. Im home now, very tired and on 240mg Diltiazem and Rivoraxaban. A fourth ablation is needed due to the fact that my heart heals too well after the previous 3 ablations.

New criteria for an ablation recently published in medscape
New Patient Criteria Among the proposals: No patient would be able to undergo more than one 'redo' procedure without review carried out by experts external to the organisation Ablation for persistent AF would only be offered if the patient had a successful DC
cardioversion
(DCCV) beforehand, and

Anxious and Scared- Possible Heart Failure and Afib
I had my fourth episode of Afib last week and had a
cardioversion
and am in NSR. For that I am grateful. The did the BNP blood test and it was super high so the hospitalist diagnosed me with congestive heart failure.
