New NHS Decision Aid for AF
The document makes no mention at all of
Cardioversion
, as if it is no longer a treatment offered by the NHS. 2. On page 2 in the "Do Nothing" box, bottom left, it asks "Is this an option for you?" and asks you to "Tick the relevant box". But Box 1 (Yes) is already ticked.

Third episode of persistent AF in 6 months
I had a successful
cardioversion
on Christmas eve and then another one just 4 weeks ago. Gutted because I went into persistent AF again yesterday. I take Edoxaban and have tried to take Flecainide but it makes me dizzy and very sick.

Ablation for goddaughter at last.
Some of you may remember my god daughter has been awaiting ablation for SVT since she was 3 years old. She has been on Flecanide 200mg a day since then and has had 5 cardioversions. Always planned for when she was 12 and correct weight. At last it came around last month, but was cancelled at 2pm due

Cyclist and Runner Exercising with Persistent Atrial Fibrillation - also considering an ablation
reasonably fit and very active person in my early sixties, I unfortunately had a heart attack in April this year (NSTEMI) which luckily has not left me with any significant damage, but not so luckily a week later (presumably related) I went into AF which has now become persistent, including after a

Reactions to Flecainide and Amiodarone?
It returned several months after my first
cardioversion
, and hasn’t stopped except for a second
cardioversion
which lasted only three or four days.

Atrial Tachycardia
After two temporarily successful cardioversions (6 months af free each time) I had an ablation in May and all seemed to be going well. I remained happily in sinus rhythm for over three months until suddenly, out of the blue, my heart rate and blood pressure rocketed and I ended up in the Resus Department

Had an ablation in February and everything was great until....
The Dr had to do a
cardioversion
just to get it back into rhythm & was in the hospital for 30 hrs. Dr prescribed Eliquis & Amiodarone to keep it in rhythm & protect from blood clots. Had the ablation in February, had 3 months of Afib then everything was great....until I had a kidney stone.

Update on my big decision not to have fourth ablation
Sunday, I was back in A&E for my 10th electrical
cardioversion
! Heart Rate 'only' 183! The letter regarding Dronedarone arrived yesterday and my brilliant GP has arranged my first blood test today and already booked the 1 week, 2 week, and one month follow-up blood tests!

Arial Fibrillation and Cardioversion
I am again in AF and waiting to see a consultant hopefully for another
Cardioversion
I am writing this because mainly the posts seem to be of people who have had ablation rather than
cardioversion
. I appreciate that if the latter does not work one would have to have an ablation.

AF for 3rd time in 26 months
After a very long wait, the doctor told me that he had spoken to the cardiologist and I have a heart defect and another
cardioversion
would not work. This was despite the cardiologist telling me in April that there was nothing wrong with my heart and to go to A&E if I got AF again.

Are Cardioversions even worth it?
Has anyone had a cardio version that actually stopped their Afib? I’ve talked to people who’ve had one, and read about it, and it seems like a quick fix that doesn’t last.

I DON’T UNDERSTAND….
diagnosed approx 6-7 years ago with A-FIB …..had 2 cardioversions and an ablation which lasted about 12 months . Been in paroxysmal now for around two years and definitely know that stress can be a major trigger . .. ( a death in the family triggered the return to AF ! ) What I don’t understand is
